You're fucking kidding me, you've made an excuse for every single flop. That's really frightening.

How is it an excuse? It's a reason, everyone flops for a reason, don't they? Surely an excuse is that 'oh they didn't show what they could do' when clearly many of them were out of their depth.

I don't want Degen or El Zhar in the squad. I don't want Babel in the first team either. I can understand why they were signed and the circumstances in which they were brought in.

They didn't work out.

However, we got rid of Insua for free and paid £5m for Konchesky. After going after Luke Young and Nicky Shorey. That is scary.

We signed Meireles and shifted him out to the right. If we wanted to play an attacking midfielder out of position, we could've kept Aquilani and spent that £11m on a striker.

There was no need to sign Poulsen. We still didn't get a left winger, even though money was made available, and we faffed about all summer before making a bid for Carlton Cole on the last day of the season. Also we couldn't afford to bring in Mario Gomez on loan, even though all we needed was to pay his wages.

Do you even like Liverpool? Or is your relationship with the club like Meh and video games?

I think at those sides he didn't manage for many games. It was right at the beginning of his career. I'll try and dig those out but is it really worth comparing his initial forays into management? I mean, Hodgson's stints with big clubs have come well into his career.

Houllier's reign, for me, comes in two halves - before and after his heart surgery. I loved Houllier and I always thought he'd eventually bring us the title. And if he hadn't had his health problems, who knows? We were close in 2002. But the Houllier we have now is the Houllier of 2002-2004. I always keep it separate because I don't want it to ruin the memories he gave us.

GH is usually brought up as a reason to give a manager a chance but also when to know that their time is up.

I believe his circumstances are unique and not many managers will go through that (I hope!).

GH pre-heart attack signed some cracking players. Heskey (before he lost his spine), Riise, Hamann, Hyypia, Henchoz, Babbel, McAllister, Smicer and Barmby were great but injury prone as hell...it's not all bad. But Houllier after the operation just became paranoid and obsessed with being proved right. Remember him at half time against Marseille going to check if Biscan was outside the box for his red card, rather than going to the dressing room to sort out the team. That was cringe worthy.

Carragher would say that, wouldn't he? Though ironically GH did try to sell him to Villa at one point.

It's not ignored, I don't get what your beef is. You're on a forum, Einstein.

Sure it's worth comparing, he only had one club before Valencia that was considered a success. He did well at Valencia too, of course, with an excellent team but as I've said they were fighting against Deportivo at that time rather than the might of Barca and Real. So yeah, compare that stuff. Get the win percentages out.

You seem to cringe a lot at the houllier times. You cringe at some of the things he did and the players he signed. And yet when you mention a Benitez poor signing there's a big disclaimer next to it. It's nuts. And I do love Liverpool, I don't think much of a portion of its fans. And to be honest I mean the likes of you. You never did acknowledge those lies you were telling on here about Silva and Jovetic. Things like that fuck me off. That's the kind of stuff you see on forums. You either eat it all down (you) or just base your opinions on what you can see (me).

I've never made up a lie about Rafa. I don't need to read stuff that backs up my view, true or not. Because I'm objective. I give people a chance. I gave you a chance to a least list some Rafa flops, then you could be taken seriously. But you didn't, you just wrote out some excuses, when a Rafa buy flops it's a punt that didn't work out. You cringe when Houllier does it.

It would all be fine but you're not alone, there are many others like you and they'd have Rafa back and that's fucking mental and there's no real way the club can more forward.

This-Year-vs-Last-Year.jpg

Thanks for that but I did specifically say the second half of the season. Also the only thing more cringe inducing than the GH incident you mentioned is maybe delusional Liverpool fans pining for Rafa like a jilted lover. Or maybe that rant Rafa did with his crumpled up bit of A4 with his facts written down.

I posted where the Jovetic thing came from, after he went it was mentioned again but you just like trolling.

It came from one mention in one article which was clearly bollocks. And you were spreading it around like it was gospel. When it was a lie. Becuase you just read it, it fitted in with your view so you spread it around. If you only spent 2 minutes looking into it you'd see it wasn't true. But you didn't becuase it fit in with your agenda. Same with Silva. And that;s the level of fan we have.

Didn't sound like a rant, it just got perpetuated in the media as one.

Right, okay, because you've done so much sterling research and everything you say is factual.

What about when he donned a tracksuit and kept saying "I'm just the coach" How did that affect your cringe gland?

And of course I might make some errors, like with dates and stuff, that's different from spreading lies.

And the jobs in spain rafa was sacked from? How was his record there?

That's quite funny (and clearly trolling). How was his record at Valencia against Roy's at Fulham?

I've said this before in this thread, but Sven has a reasonably similar CV to Roy, but has been far more successful. But who would have ever seriously considered offering him the job? Nobody. So how did Roy get it?

And the other thing I don't get is this association between anybody who doesn't like Roy must have loved Rafa. I thought Rafa had to go, but even before he was appointed didn't think Roy would be a good choice - it totally felt like a reaction to him losing a European final. Again, why didn't Sven get the job over Roy?

I don't think that posting what you said is trolling. And I know a lot about trolling.

A single poster is destroying this thread.

Again.

Kind of amazing how it keeps happening isn't it?

Not sure he can handle the egos. Didn't he clash with Eto'o and Ronaldinho?

We don't have anyone nearly as bad as those two were back then. I don't know. I like his style of football, I just don't think we have the players to implement it. We'd need significant investment, particularly in defense.

Rumours are rife about Gerrard and Carragher...

You're right about the defence. Closest we have to Marquez is Agger but Carragher is nothing like Puyol was and left back is epic fail.

We'd need a hell of a lot more pace at the back, because he plays with such a high line. Johnson and Agger would probably survive but we'd need a new left back and a new centre back. And good pacey ones don't come cheap.

If it's true we have £30m and Rijkaard's coming in, I hope he goes for someone like Kjaer at the back - might not be pacy but pretty decent positioning and aerially competent.

Plus, he's got experience in Italy and Germany so good enough mix for the Premiership.

As for left back, fuck knows really. I'd look to getting Turan for the left and hope he can cover for deficiencies at left back.

Not seen Marin but heard his name before, what's he like?

Amazing. He's a little inconsistent right now, but he's improving all the time. It's hard to compare him to anyone but he's basically a short, fast, direct, tricky guy, that is very skilful, and a great dribbler. Sound like anyone you've seen before? Yes, him. But to directly compare them would be like blasphemy at this stage.

Short, fast, direct, tricky with skill and great dribbler?

Hunchbacked, pudding bowl haircut, smile that could launch ships?

Whisper it.

You can throw Mata and Sanchez in with my Marin recommendation as well. But Mata will cost a fortune, and Sanchez is just as unlikely.
