Shite game, shite result. How have we managed to draw 0-0 twice with Stoke in one season? The starting lineup was all wrong to start with, why was he having a defensive midfield against a team in the relagation zone? He should have started with 2 upfront.

Am i alone in thinking the referee was pretty woeful?

I don't know how Lucas lasted the 90, I really don't. He follows up his best game for us with arguably his worst.

It's obviously frustrating that we've wasted a chance to pull away and I won't criticise Rafa's selections for the starting 11, but I thought he'd have sorted us out after half time.

No doubt we'll get a load of "OMG Fergie made Liverpool draw with his telekenetic mind game powers!!!!111" posts. Well get fucked, because we've been happily drawing 0-0 to shit opposition for the whole season, thankyou very much!

You're absolutely right, of course. I'm not even in the mood to gloat about anything, even though tonight's draw pleases me greatly. Benitez brought any shit that comes his way on himself. Stoke are a good team capable of taking points off anyone at home, it was just rather silly of Benitez to put all that extra attention on this result.

Well I don't know why you did start the liverpool thread (if thats what youre implying) because don't you support Watford or something?

And all that is wrong is that we just dropped points and you come in a post something completly retarded. Nothing personal.

No you werent, he was dreadful. So many free kicks for nothing which disrupted any momentum we threatened to create.

It was probably the worst performance of the season for us I think, Stoke thoroughly deserved their draw.

He was - bit of a sensitive time to mention that one!

3 mins of injury time? How?! What was with the fucking special towel for Delap's throw-ins? It doubles the length of the time to take one, easily. Bunch of dirty bastards as well - we could've got a soft penalty when Gerrard was smash-barged off the ball.

All-told, we should've played to our level and not been dragged into a physical game.

Why? Ferguson was the one playing his retarded 'mind games' during the week with his 'oh I don't know if they'll do so well in the second half of the season'. Of course we may not play well with Gerrard hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons, it's not like Ferguson Ferguson said anything beforehand (well he did, but it didn't fucking work). It's nice to hear a response from the baited which wasn't simply 'no we won't', I'm glad someone laid into that bully.

Yeah, I'm pissed off. I'm not going to blame the players for the game today; the referee was fucking abominable. Stoke, the dirty cunts they are, got away with murder and even had free kicks which should have been ours. The players looked dejected and unsure of how to handle such tactics and bullshit, and I wouldn't blame them.

Rafa said “Then he (Ferguson) was talking about the fixtures. Two years ago we were playing a lot of early kick-offs away on Saturdays when United were playing on Sundays. And we didn't say anything.

"Now he is complaining about everything, that everybody is against United. But the second half of the season will see them playing at home against all the teams at the top of the table, it is a fantastic advantage.

This was a link posted on another forum but which quoted Benitez complaining about fixtures. So I wouldn't go along with the statement that they didn't say anything.

It's all in the timing. Benitez should have learnt that from his experiences with Drogba last year. And that was a low blow he dealt to Drogba anyway, to launch an attack on a player like that, just like he's launched a premeditated attack on a rival manager this weekend. Sir Alex has made it personal in the past, admittedly, but it's not like he ever said, 'I bet that Keegan goes mental in the final weeks of the season'. He just said an underperforming Leeds side were cheating their manager to try and rally a team he needed to take points off Newcastle. Nothing even to do with Keegan or Newcastle. A little bit of subtlety and restraint goes a long way. Benitez has instigated a war.

Whatever the ins and outs of what he said, when you do what Rafa done you put the spotlight on yourself and your team. So you better be sure you don't fuck up.

Why? Football isn't about trying to save face and keep quiet. Personally I care about what we win at the end of the season, not what people think of us. Also, the comment was about Alex Ferguson whinging and getting away with stuff. In fact Ferguson's comment about us was more directly about who he thinks will win the title and much more likely to end up with egg on his face, if you know what I mean. As he said, Rafa was talking about facts, things that have happened, not his predictions on the season ahead or our title chances.

As i said, it's got nothing to do with what he said. The press will now put him under the spotlight and create a Rafa vs Fergie situation. Liverpoool only got a draw. I can guess some of the headlines already. Fergies mind games starting to work? Benitez cracking under the pressure? I expect a Chelsea win tomorrow but if Utd win i guess Fergie will have a quip ready to fan the flames.

Benitez said the same thing that Mourinho said about him not long ago now he isnt his manager.

Maybe Benitez just likes facts

I am pretty sure we would all have taken being top by 4 points at this point in the season even if we knew the games Man U had in hand etc.

No point worrying about the points dropped earlier in the season or today, they will only matter if someone manages to put a run together to over take us in the league. Why not wait until then to worry about it!

Also Torres is back now which should make a big difference to our scoring.

You don't win games by playing 60 minutes without a striker, simple as that really.

I realise you're not the only one that has criticised the line-up but I'd just like to point out that this was the team that beat Newcastle 5-1:

Reina, Carragher, Agger, Hyypia, Insua, Benyoun, Mascherano, Lucas, Babel, Gerrard ©, Kuyt.

The system and the team selection weren't the problems. It was just the performance, which is the most important thing really.

It's frustrating but it's still early days and we're still in a great position.
