I have no idea how we havent won that game.

It is a similar story to other seasons in that we just cant seem to win games at home we dominate. In the four home games we have dropped points, all draws we have had over 120 shots and managed just 2 goals.

Just having a look on the BBC and noticed Benitez brought on Lucas for Mascherano. Now Mascherano is never going to win you a game so I can see the logic in taking him off but Lucas is just... rubbish. Just throw Keane on FFS.

Funnily enough my stream stopped working as soon as Lucas came on....

I've defended Benitez to the hilt in the past but I really want to know what's going on with him and Robbie Keane, I have no idea how anyone with any ambitions for the title can leave £18m of striker on the bench in favour of El Zhar or Lucas.

El Zhar did really well I thought, but Lucas is a bit, erm, crap.

To be fair, if Keane would just replicate his Spurs form for Liverpool we'd be laughing. Especially if he and Torres clicks like he did with Berbatov. Still think it can happen for Keane, as when he's good he's just what Liverpool need.

We're all upset but that's a bit of an exaggeration.

Dossena has improved a bit since his awful performance at Spurs. Perhaps he just needs time? Everyone was laughing at Gomes in goal for Spurs but they aren't fucking laughing now. (Yes, I was one of those people laughing at him)

Dossena wasn't that bad today, in general.

From where I was sat (which was one of the best positions to see it happen), he didn't close down his man quick enough for one of the goals. He was okay today (Yossi and Kuyt were our two most ineffective players).

First goal of theirs was a dive prior to the freekick, though.

Those people banging on about bringing Keane on (if I hear one more mention of that in the media; five live haven't stopped mentioning it), it wouldn't have made much difference.

Any team that comes to Anfield now knows that if they congest the central areas and force us to play wide, we haven't got the quality on the wings to penetrate. Likewise, we haven't got the right personnel in the box to really take advantage of crosses (shame Crouch went in that respect).

Keane wouldn't have improved our approach today. Typically, if he had've played and not banged in a goal, most of those same people would be bemoaning his inclusion.

The overall atmosphere was one of frustration, but a lot were happy that we managed to get a couple of goals back so quickly.

I thought Dossena was decent today. He has always looked pretty good going forward, it has been in defence he has been so shaky in the past (especially in that Tottenham game).

He seemed to work really hard today and was overlapping Reira a lot creating space and used the ball pretty well when he got it and put in a number of good crosses.

He's hardly played with him which is the problem you've got. You'd better hope he does click though because if he doesn't then you've basically wasted £20mil on a player who only works in a pair and wastes a hell of a lot of chances.

I can't agree with that. Riera's been excellent, Aurelio when fit has been superb and Arbeloa has nailed down the right back position. Statistically the men in the middle aren't converting enough chances.

I agree regarding Arbeloa, who's been brilliant and a genuine asset to our forward play, but not with Aurelio (who I can't believe you can describe as superb). To be fair, his injuries have obviously damaged any chance to find top form. He's good, not fantastic, for me.

I like Riera, but he's faded in the league a bit - he didn't take anyone on today as far as I remember.

I agree with you about the men in the middle, which was why I mentioned it. A bigger problem is our lack of attacking numbers in the box.

I'd like to withdraw my statement about Yossi being ineffective - I didn't notice today (with the distance and angle) that he set Gerrard's second goal up until I just watched MotD then.

I have to admit I really rate Aurelio, when fit, which isn't often enough. Beyond Torres we just don't take enough of our chances. Kuyt's a great team player although not exactly a preadator. Keane's a good player but he's all too often been asked to fulfill an unfamiliar role. Beyond that Ngog, Babel etc have their best years well ahead of them.

I don't post in this thread that often anymore. Why? Because I'm convinced we are going to go close at least to the league title. I have nothing to bitch about and perhaps I'm under the impression I can see the bigger picture.

Well, if you check back through my posting history in this thread, you'll see that I'm not exactly a doom merchant.

I like to think that I call it as I see it.

I agree with a lot of your last post (also about us going close this season), but still hold the same view that you orginally called me on and I don't think saying such a thing is bitching (RAWK caters for all that for me!).
