Yeah, we were always on top, even in the first half - just a bit wasteful with our possession in the final third.

You were more clinical, though and took your chances - fair play.

Second half was distorted by the sending off, but we were still looking good value before then.

What a game! The idiot that I am I turned down the chance to go to the match but at least I got to see it in the pub. By the time the third went in everyone went mental, however people were still slagging off Kujit even after he had scored.

I think next week we could go top. I'm not saying Boro witll beat Chelsea but we all know what they can do against the big teams at home, so Boro could be doing us a big favour next week hopefully. I'm prety confident we'll beat Wigan.

What's the average recovery time?

Probably 6 weeks - 4 months depending on the extent of the injury and if there are other injuries such as collateral ligament or meniscal damage. It's 8 years since I did orthopaedics so I could be wrong eg recent advances in repair or rehabilitation.

I know that there's been a lot of talk around the various newsblogs and reports in the paper saying that this is our year and such, but yesterday was a big, big win IMO.

We're still not in top gear, but its the way we are winning games and still wanting to push harder; not resting on our laurels. To keep winning after going a goal down and in such style yesterday can only do wonders for our confidence. I'm not saying we're going to win the league, I think 2nd will be an good season, but I think we have the players there to win it, it's just been our mentality that has been our achilles heel, recently.

I hate playing City away, even before their wealth it was hard work, so I expected a tough game. The fact we dug in and pushed for a result. 2-2 isn't a bad result by any means if you're chasing Champions League places, but if you're going for the title, a win is only good enough. I am exercising caution and every game is big, but even when were top around this time last year, we're playing so much better than then and yet, at the same time, worse.

This is probably waffle because I'm hungry, but these are the hallmarks of potential Champions.

Anyway, I'll calm down and go away and eat now I've jinxed it all...sorry.

This is the first season I can remember where we're winning games we haven't always deserved to. Which is a good sign.

Wigan next in the league

Then CHELSEA, and I think it's about time their unbeaten home streak came to an end.

Whilst I don't think we'll win at Stanford Bridge I think we need a draw at least, a loss is not good enough if we're gonna challenge for the title.

Anyway I think we should stop saying "this is our year" cause everytime we do we curse it and then we go on a run of shit.

The ManCity fan woman at work was trying to bait me with "you still won't win the Prem" today. I just shrugged and said "it's still early. we'll see" and the like.

I always start the season with "we could win it this year", except for this year, where I just haven't been that confident. It's still early, I guess, we'll see at the end of the season...

Yep, still massively early to make any kind of call - Stamford Bridge isn't make-or-break at all.

This six-game period (starting with Man United and finishing with the Chelsea game) is very decisive, but even coming through it with 12+ points only keeps us in contention, that's all.

This is typical of our fanbase; all talking about the Chelsea game as if it's our next fixture. We have got to deal with Wigan first and that won't be easy.

One game at a time.

PS: I've been really shocked hearing/reading some City fans after Sunday - some have been a disgrace.

It's the game that could define our season. Benitez has broken the hoodoo of not being able to beat Man Utd in the league and now if we can go to Stamford Bridge and end Chelsea's amazing home record then I'm convinced our players will be 100% sure they have got what it takes to truely push for the league title. This could be the season where finally the self belief is there that we are genuine contenders.

Psychologically, maybe.

It's not make-or-break, though - this six-game run is more important, generally.

I'm just trying to preempt the doom-mongers, who will declare our season over if we were to lose down there.

If we beat Wigan, we're in a great position - sure, it'll be lovely to do Chelsea too, but it still would've been a great points-return even if we don't.

Rumours around the web (particularly on The Liverpool Way and YNWA websites) suggest that not only has highly-rated Nathan Eccleston been demoted back to the Academy (because there's too many strikers in the Reserves at Melwood) but that the lad has become soo disillusioned with Rafa Benitez and Gary Ablett that he has decided to trial with Blackburn.

This wont come as a surprise to those who regularly follow the Academy. There's no secret that Rafa Benitez has had a falling out with the likes of Piet Hamberg and has left a few of the youngsters bewildered with his decision to bring in relative unknowns and (from what I've read) poor talents.

This will come as a blow to Liverpool's Academy that has invested hundreds and thousands of pounds in recruiting youngsters with some decent talent only to be told that Rafa has brought in some unknown youngsters with no chance of either blending into the culture or making a significant impact on the team.

Eccleston's loss may be bigger than some think.

That's a tad worrying. Though obviously only rumours right now.

But it's Skrtel so he'll be back in the gym tomorrow, and playing five-a-side by the weekend.
