I couldn't understand why he disallowed Torres 3rd, I know Kuyt did a little nudge but nothing that warrented a tackle, it was just typical small nudges players do durring corners.

Riley was shocking though. Thats 2 weeks he's been aweful, he shouldn't be given any high profile matches for a while. I don't think the tackle warrented a striagh red at all, I think it was also the defiance Cahill was showing. Riley was blowing at him over and over and Cahill was walking off, ignoring him.

Great result though, hopefully we can get a result at City next week, but it's ognna be a very tough game. We've done very well against City in the past but this is a new look team but as shown on Sunday, they can be very 50/50.

Good win on saturday, watched it down the pub and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Personally I think Kuyt, Reira and Dossena were worth pointing out as being particularly good against Everton. Skytel I love but he doesn't half worry me sometimes with his no nonsense defending!

Glad to see Torres grabbed a double but I do think he hangs onto the ball a little too much sometimes. He is trying to do too much in my eyes.

Anyway, roll on wednesday when I will be watching it in the Walkabout in Plymouth whilst supping on beer that work has paid for!

Did you see Keanes coldsore? That's a sign of being a bit rundown, maybe from moving house or worry about not scoring, when it clears up he'll be on fire I reckon.

I know when I suffer the old mouth rot it's down to stress, and when it's it full flow I never feel up to muc at all.

Tottenham fan in peace as they say on 606. Good game, good game.

There's a real air of confidence around the squad now, I've been really impressed with the mentality of the team in recent weeks. Rafa has said that he's getting similar vibes from the team to the ones he did from his Valencia squad when they were on the cusp of winning titles. That's the first time Rafa has ever publicly talked up our chances for the league; surely a good sign.

Reina has stepped up another level this season and is probably the best keeper in the league now. Where as Cech and Van Der Sar have gone backwards somewhat, he just keeps improving.

Arbeloa has been very consistent and looks to have nailed down a problem position for us at right back. He was great in his first season but was pretty inconsistent last year and looked like he would end up being a squad player. I've been very impressed with him so far, though, and his understanding with Kuyt is great.

Carra and Skrtel are looking as solid as ever and if either have a dip in form/suffer injury we've got a determined and fit again Agger or ever reliable Sami to step in.

Aurelio has been brilliant, it's so frustrating to see him play so well basically every time he's in the team because we know he's going to spend half the season out with injury. Hopefully Dossena can fill in as and when despite a slow start.

Masch is Masch; top class and will go straight back into the team now.

Xabi has been very impressive, running games from deep and linking up well with everyone.

Stevie has been playing very well in central midifield, great goals aside, I've enjoyed watching how disciplined he has become. The days of him tearing around with complete abandon look to be gone now, and even when he does leave gaps we've now got intelligent forwards that drop in when required so we don't lose our shape. He's improved his corners as well (he took two great ones in the same game!).

Riera has been pretty much as expected for me, so far so good.

Kuyt, Keane and Torres have been linking up well and I'm starting to think they will be unplayable when they all hit form. They interchange so well (along with Gerrard and Babel when he's on) that the formation looks even more fluid than the 4-2-3-1 did last year, which is something I never thought I'd say. Torres still looks a bit flat since his injury but I'm sure he'll be back to his best once he gets a couple more games under his belt (and maybe some new boots!).

I'm also liking this season's new chants, his name's not fucking Keano in particular. I see our Torres song has been nicked by many teams throughout the league this year, it's like Five times all over again. But then, they do say imitation is the highest form of flattery.

No "probably" about it. Three consecutive Golden Gloves speaks for itself. I still laugh (and cry a little) when I hear people speak about good keepers in the PL and bring up names like James and VdS and don't even mention Reina. Whilst Cech was better when he started at Chelsea, I think his form has gone down a little since his injury.

I was a little concerned about the football we were playing earlier in the season, we seem to be clicking much better now. Hopefully Agger will get some action soon, but at the same time, I'm hugely impressed by the Carra/Skrtel axis.

Well, yeah. I don't actually know why I said probably. I've told anyone who will listen that he's been the best keeper in the league since his second season.

It's very reminiscent of the way his Valencia played. We're so tough to play against now, so organised off the ball and relentless in our pursuit of it that teams don't have time to breathe. Also, we've now got class in all of the attacking positions and stength throughout the squad. Obviously it's still early days but we do have the look of the Crushing Machine about us. If we can just keep this momentum going we could be in for a special season.

City away is a tough one but the game should be more open this time than in recent years. Come on, Red men!

Following Liverpool is actually amazing right now. All we need is the Dubai billions and I'm happy

Rafa recently said that he felt the foundations were finally in place and we wouldn't be needing to spend much money on players from now on. Personally, I don't want to hear a sound from either of the owners or Dubai. Just let the team get on with playing football and worry about the rest in the summer.

Random Robbie Keane fact:

he did all the motion capture for this game. He played for Wolves at the time. I used to have a picture of me stood next to him wearing a motion capture suit, but I can't find it now...

Videogame fact.

The Producer on that game is now the producer on FIFA09 (and he was my first videogame boss).
