Hasnt been the greatest first half but I am sick to death of Andy Gray already.

Apparently Liverpool's tactics have allowed Aston Villa to have a lot of possession, with soccernet putting them at 45% to Liverpools 55% :)

We do look devoid of options though, hopefully Babel will come on to mix things up a bit but he looked quite rusty against Leige.

Andy Gray was, is and always will be a bitter bluenose twat. Keys is another no-mark, really don't know why I keep paying Sky subs, their coverage gets on my tits. Ah well, stuck with them until we move.

As for the game, fairly insipid so far, neither side has really clicked (save for the Carew chance, then the Ngog one late-on). Impressed with Ngog but needs the midfield to provide more, would have thought Monster being back would have freed up Xabi but not the case so far.

Usually we have more like 65% in this sort of game, so he has a point albeit a small one

Okay, I hold my hands up, I hexed Ngog - he was replaced with the spirit of Heskey in the second-half.

Would have taken a point before the game but having seen Villa, supposedly one of the leading contenders to break into the top four, we should be disappointed. Average performance, at least we're only playing United next. Arse.

The win would have been a nice bumper, but at least they can't pass us on points.

Shit! Keane misses a 1 on 1

I may be rubbish at spotting these, but I've seen it again and again from different angles in HD, and I can't see anything other than Reo-Coker taking out Keane without touching the ball.

Don't get me wrong, we didn't really deserve to win the game, but Gray dismissed it straight away in his usual bluenose way, and afterwards they didn't mention any controversy. Am I just biased? Well, obviously I am :P but in this case I think I'm right too. Penalty.

shame, its really bad, might be my internet connection

Must've been - the streams were fine for the majority of the match.

A point's not bad, but considering Villa were only slighly less unambitious than us, we could've gone for the win.

Quite glad for the international break (injuries-wise).

Guess this just leaves the floor open for ramone - see y'all in two weeks.

This is true. Hopefully Nando II will be up-and-running, although Gerrard less likely to be. Sod it though, don't care who's fit as long as they're up for it. Was it October 1863 when we last scored against that shower in the league? Ojoj.

I can see where you are coming from with this but I think Keane had effectively shot by the time Reo-Coker made his "tackle" which ended up just being a lunge to block the shot which he missed.

I dont think you are ever going to see a penalty for it, maybe if Keane had instead tried to control the ball and then was tackled like that he would have more of a case.

well if it was a foul it makes up for gerrards dodgy dive at villa park last year which got them a late free kick which he put in the net

That was pretty pish. Start the game with Keane, Torres and Kuyt on the attacking front and end up with Benayoun, Ngog and er, Aurelio? Alright, Torres got injured but fuck, that was lacklustre substituting. Should have put Babel and El Zhar on, at least.

I thought this was going to be Babel's year? Last year was Rafa just being brillinat by getting him used to the Premiership bit by bit, that's what you guys said. And surely Lucas is better than what we've seen. I've never seen him be anything but very average. You don't become Brazil under 21 captain by being very average do you? It's the Benitez effect in full... in full effect. And Agger, what's up there?
