That fat Spaniard isn't a very good football manager.

Not another one, fucks sake. How many more Man U fans want to make joke accounts just to say pointless things like that? Or is it ramone...again?

No! We've been that since 1991, but with a bit more silverware :P

Only good points; Alonso and Skrtel are pure class. Skrtel looks like a midfeilder on the ball, and you never feel worried when someone's running at him. Alonso's back better than ever, now he's FIT!!! (that's for all you Xabi doubters in here).

Adding El Zhar to the mix, he's class.

It is not pointless. I read that Keane os not very good, everybody talked as the match went on about the players. Nobody said the obvious thing, that the manager is very poor. That Liege manager is obviously a better manager. Look how well he got a team that must have cost nothing to perform. Imagine what he could have done with Liverpool. He would win everything. What would Rafael have done with that Liege team? Not very much.

As if the manager had to tell them ANYTHING for them to get up for a game against Liverpool. It's most likely he walked out when he got the tactics out the way and left it to the captain!

Same with Havant and Waterlooville and Barnsley, I guess. It must be easy playing Liverpool as the players are so pumped. Poor us, no wonder we struggle, who would get pumped about playing Standard Liege!!

And no I will not fuck off.

If I was slating a player it would be okay. Because it's that lovable scamp Benitez I must be a wind up guy.

Judging by your post you're the same illiterate retard that was badmouthing us a few weeks ago. You've obviously changed your name and tried to portray yourself as being more intelligent...but it hasn't worked, you fucking retard. Now get to fuck.

I didnt see Kuyts goal, what was it like?

Torres and Keane didn't have much service. Kuyt and Benayoun, all i can say is :) Surely Babel will be starting regularly soon (left/right mid or part of a front 3?). I don't know about Riera but maybe he will solve the left midfield position?

Im just happy were through :P

Having said that, Rafa has only had 3 games in charge of Liverpool. Things could still turn around. It's not that strange that we are playing badly seeing as he has only has 3 games. I mustard mitt I had a horrible dream he had already been in charge for 4 (four) years, but that cannot be true. Nobody would put up with four years of this and still smile and say Robbie Keane isn't good.

3 wins out of 3. I hope they don't turn around!

3 terrible performances against poor teams. Well, four terrible performances. I hope he does turn it around!

So, what, you all think 2nite was groovy? The players just didn't do very good at football? Do they need more practise or something? Or will it all just 'click'? One day, midway through his 5th season it'll all just CLICK. I guess that could happen.

Ramone changing your name won't all of a sudden turn the world upside down and make your points make the slightest bit of sense or hold the slightest bit of relevance

I hope the team has a lot more to offer than that, especially when we have Aston Villa away and Man U at home in the next two weeks. Those two games will show if we're title contenders.

Do Roma still want benayoun btw? and Kuyt looks like he's earning that £16m price tag.

We're basically a 3 man team Torres and Gerrard do all the attacking and Mascherano cleans up. I couldn't count the number of times I saw a group of 3 or more liverpool players crowded within 10 yards of each other on the edge of the 18 yard box. It would be alright playing Kuyt and Benayoun as wide men if they would bloody stay there sometimes. I was screaming at the TV to get an early cross in; they all seem to want 5 touches and 5 yards of space before they can cross it.

So Gerrard's injured for 2 weeks then :P no wonder he didn't look his best tonight - he was playing through the pain:

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is almost certain to miss England's first two World Cup qualifiers after the Reds revealed he needs a groin operation.

Gerrard, 28, will undergo the operation on Thursday and will be out for "10-15 days", according to boss Rafa Benitez.

Gerrard played through the pain barrier on Wednesday to help Liverpool into the Champions League group stage.

England travel to Barcelona to play Andorra on Saturday 6 September and face Croatia away four days later.

"I'm disappointed because Gerrard will have an operation on Thursday," added Benitez.

"He has a groin problem, we knew it could be like this. He had a problem and now he will have an operation and will be out for 10-15 days.

"He needs to have it because he is having pain with it. When he went with the national team we knew he had a problem and in the first-leg too.

"I was talking with the doctor on Tuesday and on Wednesday we talked with him. He said he would play with pain and after it he would have an operation."

Gerrard's Liverpool beat Standard Liege 1-0 with a last-gasp extra-time goal to win 1-0 on aggregate and sneak into the group stage.

That's got to be it for Benayoun now. 4 games, 4 bad performances. Ok, left wing obviously isn't his position, but I can't remember him doing anything of note. I agree with dogsout that we'll look better when we change the formation back to 4-2-3-1 - Gerrard was playing far too deep tonight - there'll be more an emphasis on the defenders to get forward, but we'll still need the attacking players to provide crosses and create something.

Worrying thing was the bench tonight. Only really Babel and El Zahr attacking-wise to come on - where was Ngog? We quite clearly need at least another attacking player even if Riera does come. Having said that, El Zahr really impressed me when he came on - probably man of the match.

I'd play Keane in the Gerrard position of 4-2-3-1 against Villa, with Babel on the left and El Zahr on the right.

The Villa game on Sunday won't tell you anything; we're still a work in progress and seem particularly leaky at the back at the minute.

To put your mind at rest though - and like I said a couple of months ago - you're nowhere near being title contenders on current evidence. By your own admission, you're lacking quality in depth. That said, Keane could make a difference if he settles although playing two strikers might change Gerrard's game for the worse by forcing him to sit a bit deeper.

Yeah Mascherano had a great game tonight...

Oh ok, your post was confusing.

Also, jacob, we get it. We know you don't like Benitez. Unfortunatly for you, the majority of Liverpool fans do. So obviously we're all wrong, and you're a football genius, but why not leave us to it? Go win the quad with Liverpool on Football Manager and feel all smug or something. You've made your point but everyone dislikes you. You're like some saddo who keeps butting into a conversation at a party and everyone wishes would fuck off.

So do it!

And you, is little PinkMoon all cross because your captain wishes with all his heart that he could play for us and you lost to STOKE CITY at the weekend? Nevermind eh, maybe you'll get into UEFA via fairplay or whatever this season. Good luck!

While I disagree with the idiots who insist on insulting every non-Liverpool fan who posts in here, I also disagree with you.

Grinding out results, when the team plays badly IS what potential champions go through, United have done it numerous times. I just hope it does pick up :P

Will say it again, as I said after the first leg... Liege are NOT poor, and every one of their players put all they had into every minute of the tie, much respect to all of them.
