Great goal but 5 mins of injury time ??????

We are turning into the new Man U, I dont think we deserved to win either of our games this year but have won them both which I guess is a great sign for us if we ever get going :P.

Good goal from Gerrard and Carragher's goal was basically a complete fluke.

Tuncay nearly scored an amazing goal earlier, very Bergkamp like.

This type of result is a definite turning point for us. Last season we would have drawn our first two league games.

Yep, Boro deserved what they got there by time-wasting/momentum-stifling.

Riley, though - fuck me, has there ever been a ref so consistently biased against one team?!

How many handballs did he 'not see'? The ghost foul by Torres on Huth and, the best one, where he played advantage and stopped play when we had one.

I switched off Soccer Saturday (Uber Armchair Supporting!) in DISGUST when we'd gone 1-0. Well pleased with this!

Loved some of the results today, Villa and Spurs losing :P. I think our Champions League spot is safe for now boys...

Why do Soccer Saturday always have some cunt like Merson or Le Tiss who seemingly hates Liverpool and pisses themself when we get scored against? Tommo is a cunt as well though. Actually they're all cunts! I still love the show though. And they probably just laugh when any underdog scores against the top four. I reckon they all bum Arsenal a bit though. But yeah whatever.

CARRA!

Liverpool FC agree Albert Riera deal Aug 26 2008

by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL have agreed a fee with Espanyol to sign Spanish winger Albert Riera.

The two clubs held talks last night and agreed a compromise figure in excess of £8m, after Riera informed the Espanyol hierarchy he was only interested in moving to Anfield.

That dashed Everton's hopes of hijacking the deal, despite the fact that Liverpool's Merseyside rivals had made a higher offer for the 26-year-old.

The Reds' urgent need for a left sided midfield player was again apparent at the weekend as Yossi Benayoun again struggled in that role before being replaced by Ryan Babel.

With the Dutchman preferring to operate in a more central position, Rafa Benitez identified Riera as the player he wanted to give his side some much needed width.

The former Manchester City man will now have to agree terms with Liverpool and undergo a medical before he is confirmed as a Liverpool player.

Wooo, an actual winger and not a player pretending to be one.

Fuck them. If they're talking like that I'd be willing to bet they haven't seen anything of him in the last two seasons; the usual mix of ignorance and arrogance you'd expect from that shower.

He was one of the most consistent performers in La Liga last season. I'm very surprised at the fee, considering it had been claimed all summer that they were looking for 20 million Euros. I think he'll be a good addition to the squad and provide Rafa with some much needed "possibilities" on the left.
