I think Rafal may be should not on the touch line tell players what to do and treat them like childrens. He is always shouting at the players where to be and what to be kicking where I think the players are grown men and know how to play football. Yes tatics you can do but then you do not treat the players like children when they are on the pictch. You must trust the players but Rafael does not seem to trust the players. I think the game was more of what we have seen over then over and I am not confident we are better we have players to conme back but we should had beat Liege we some time make medicore teams looks very good. I think that Rafael should resign.

We knew they'd be strong at home and I expected us to struggle a bit because it's so early in the season. They were very physical and very well organised tactically so 0-0 is hardly a disaster, especially considering the way we played.

You don't understand.

I gave up my valuable gym time to watch a bunch of over paid nancies do not much at all AGAIN. Just like most seasons!

Roll on 2034.

Think that's bad? Imagine how the fans that traveled out to support the team felt. And to be fair to the team the work rate was there, they just couldn't get anything going. Anything.

You should have just had a few mates round and got pissed up like I did. Although the match wasn't very entertaining we still had a good laugh.

We say that liege are good team but there have been much teams liverpool can made look very strong Besiktas marseille southampton reading wigan. Why is this. I think it is because we can only play when we do not have to have vicotry. In cup competions we are strong when play the strongest teams but not against weakest teams because with weakest team we can not 'sit back' when we play and we try to play but not good. Against the best teams we can play counter attack. We only can play as underdog not as favourite. We need good manager and a winning mentality. Now we have bad manager and trying to steal goal mental.

So Gert, where are you from? Spain?

O'Neill decided to conduct most of this whole charade in public. I'm not sure Benitez is the one that needs to be spoken to.

Quite ludicrous.

Villa have never wanted to sell Barry but if the player wants to go and Liverpool make overtures then quite frankly we can stick any price on him that we want. If you don't like the price, don't buy. It's very simple.

The facts are that he's very important to our team. He's not an outstanding player (like a Gerrard or Ronaldo) but even when he has an off day he is good and you get a level of consistency and maturity on the ball that can only add value to a team. If we got £18 million for him we'd be laughing all the way to the bank and could recover from losing him, if he stays he's professional enough to continue to work hard and contribute - as the game tonight showed.

He's a class act and although it hurts when a player wants to leave your club, it's win-win for us.

Except that Villa do exactly the same thing as Liverpool (and the rest of the clubs) are all doing. O'Neill's just trying to play it out in the press so he'll get more cash.

Barry playing in the UEFA Cup could work in our favour. The Americans can offer the £12m, as his value has now gone down. Apparently he has a clause he can leave for £2m next season anyway.

I agree about the consistency - something we could really do with.

Yet O'Neill is the sort of guy who claims all the prices etc are quite ludicrous. So...

That's the thing though - it looks like we aren't.

We didn't make any public overtures - we can argue about how the story leaked, but we weren't the first to officially comment.

He isn't worth 18 mil and that's a big enough reason for me to leave the situation be.

You sure about that? I'm sure Benitez mentioned him by name and that was how the whole thing kicked off, though I admit I could be wrong. And then there was the Gerrard interview before the T&T friendly saying what a great addition to the side he'd be etc.
