Liverpool Vs Newcastle (around 3.30 in that video) where he sent the keeper to the floor and had an open goal at his mercy without even touching the ball. Not the best goal to look at I know but it's got something about it that makes me go "Wow" every time I watch it.

It was basically a toss-up between that and the Chelsea goal for me. Brilliant build up play for both that goal and Stevie's one a bit later on in the game.

I really liked the one against Fulham at home (I think it was Fulham...), for some reason. It wasn't his best goal, but it was a game which really needed a crafty goal to unlock a very stubborn defence. I totally marked out when it went in.

Left foot at the near post and a nice assist from Reina. I remember Lawrie Sanchez saying Torres had miss-hit that and didn't mean to put it there.

So it seems like Alonso is going.

People say that it takes time to build a team but it will take forever if we keep selling players who were supposed to be part of the team.

So now we have Torres, Babel, Mascherano and Gerrard as who the team seem likely to be built around. Three of those arrived last year and the other one was already here. One must ask what was happening for the three seasons before the one just gone. Of all the players signed it seems just Agger has a future.

Not impressed.

And Reina.

I know football-rumours.com is about as reliable a source of accurate football wisdom as Disciple, but they had something up about Agger the other day which raised an eyebrow. I paraphrase but:

As for Agger it's reasonably well known up here why he's going....let's just say a career gone up in smoke. He actually recovered from injury some time ago.

Probably bollocks but oooooooh-worthy nevertheless.

That rumour has been doing the rounds for ages now. He was back in training at the end of the season and Rafa has said he had problems with the injury which have been addressed through surgery, and he now has to wear a special type of boot when he's playing. We'll find out the truth soon enough, I suppose.

The Agger rumour was started ages ago by Everton fans. It's bollocks.

Well maybe but where's the fun in that? I'm now imagining Agger with boots like that shoe that Sickboy has early on in Trainspotting with the false sole that flips around to reveal his works.

He's Danish isn't he? Raised in Copenhagen Free City by a commune of hippies. Conceived at a Grateful Dead gig.

I'm here all week.

Basically, the opposite of Skrtel. Skrtel was actually a quintuplet, BUT HE ATE THE OTHERS.

What?!

Apologies, I made a right pig's ear of that post.

I was trying to say that apart from Reina and Agger there are no players signed from before this season just gone who are really likely to be our future. Players that were signed and who we expected to be part of the glorious future have been or are being shipped out.

I just fear that we need as much rebuilding as we have done for the last few years. Yes we have four or so players whom we may build around, but we've always had four or so players who can build around. It's the building around that does not seem to have advanced. I will be very sad to see Alonso go.

So Ramsey is off to either Man U or Arsenal is the understanding? 3 teams bidded, 2 were accepted.

Christ we just can't compete it's pretty pathetic!
