Bennett gave Mascherano nine lives today and he's still enough of a complete moron to have a pop again & again.

Andy Gray: "Can't you talk to the referee anymore?"

Please. Mascherano told Bennett to F*** Off about 10 times after his first booking, he's lucky he lasted 10 minutes.

Also, if that's a second yellow why isn't the entire Man Utd team booked in every game of the season? Unless the stats are wrong, they're not and that's a fucking preposterous situation - All of their players bar perhaps the keeper deserve to be booked in every game I've ever seen them play, if these are the rules we're playing under. Why wasn't Ronaldo booked for his poncey fairy dive earlier in the game?

Tosh. This is the only game that fits that description. And then im not sure he was even aware until it was too late

No it isn't. Every fucking time we play these sort of teams he's either bum chumming with Terry & Lampard or Rooney and he then does fuck all for the enire match. It's sickening.

This shouldn't really change too too much. Alonso'll have to work twice as hard but apart from that.

This could still be okay.

You know what though? If Gerrard hadn't turned into the mouse he always becomes when facing his best friend (and boyhood idol Bryan Robson's) team in recent years this game would almost certainly look completely and utterly different.

I didn't see the incident (just on BBC Sport) but sometimes it feels as if the refereeing in this country is directly influenced by the media. Players have been giving refs shit all season and very little has been made of it (bookings wise) until this Ashley Cole incident. The sending off here just feels like a direct result of the stink around Cole's petulance. I don't mind the clampdown, but when it's so inconsistent it's infuriating to say the least.

Apparently Mascherano twice asked the referee why Torres was (ludicrously) booked.

Still, we know all is right with the world because Ferguson has got the cowardly pieces of human waste that are referees doing his deeds for him. It's been a genuinely scandalous performance from Bennett, and he's clearly not fit for any stage above park football.

I agree with you.

^_^;)

Who's Camel Man? This is fucking diabolical, when we're shite, we really are truly shite. Gerrard and Carragher have been absolutely anonymous, I can't remember Carragher even being mentioned in commentary, Reina has had a very strange day, Torres has had no service, I can't think of a single player who has done well today. Kuyt's done a lot of running and that's about it.

I hope to christ we actually decide to take part in the game against Everton next week.

Jesus Christ this painful. At least we kind of competed against a clearly better side until the red card. Now it's just a farce. Reina's kept us from getting demolished. I'm not complaining about ref's, linesmen, cards or anything. Best team has won and Mascherano is an absolute nutter.

I can't imagine Mascherano will be the most loved player. On the back of the Ashley Cole incident and refs cracking down on dissent, and on a big, big football weekend, he still chooses to give the ref some mouth. What an idiot.

I don't know if what he did before he got his second booking was all that bad, the way he sprinted over was wrong but from his lips you can see all he is saying is "What's happening?" but after getting sent off then he went absolutely mental which is indefendable.

Rooney complained to the ref a minute ago, not booked.

That is because the Man Utd players have to be protected, from the Liverpool players and the Ref. If Liverpool have been beaten because the ref is an inconsistent prick then I will not be happy.

Not true in the slightest. We've been beaten by a better team + Mascherano's idiocy and Reina's flapping.

I remember we had a few good wins against them in the Houllier days. What has gone wrong since then?

We sold Danny Murphy!

Well form what's been posted it seems that Man Utd players have been mouthing off but haven't been booked. Consider Mascherano didn't actually mouth off I'd call that inconsistent.
