Yup. I'd love to see Rafinha brought in. He's brilliant and reminds me of Masch in his style of play more than a bit. I've already made my feelings clear on Insua many times. Hopefully he'll be brought through next season.

What the hell happened for that Gerrard goal? Couldn't do that one again with a million takes. Mental. Great goals from Babel and Aurelio too; not the most interesting game but apart from the first 10 minutes, Bolton were rubbish. Nothing other than a win would've been fair.

Hmm, I don't ever gamble but I've put £10 against Everton finishing 4th with a colleague in work...

How Everton are doing so well is beyond me with crap like Hibbert, Neville, Carsley, Osman etc clogging up their side. But they are and fair play to them they are capable of playing some decent football as well. The Merseyside derby is going to be an absolute classic shortly.

How come your game with Inter is next week and not this week?

I think it's cos both AC and Inter were drawn at home in the 2nd leg so, as they ground share, one fixture needed to be postponed till the week after.

I never thought Didi was especially known for his goals. I only really remember a screamer volley from the left edge of the box at Anfield against Man City (?). But you can't underestimate his influence on the team during his time there. I think Mascherano still has a way to go before he gets to Didi's level for us. I think he will get there, for sure, but Didi was immense.

He could occasionally hit it pretty well...surely you remember the England/Germany game that was the straw that broke the Keegans back!

Correct. I've spoken to a few Inter fans about this and they say that due to coefficient rankings, when scenarios like this occur they always have to play second.

Even if he doesn't play we're still going to need a big team performance to see them off. The midfield will have to do their part in exploiting their weakness at the back. It seems Maxwell will miss out through injury as well.

So did anyone else catch

on the weekend? Nearly made me spit my Sunday roast at the telly!

Also, Paul Tomkins's new piece is a very good read, as usual. He touches on a lot things I've been saying in here throughout the season, Rafa's methods of introducing new players to the Premiership and the use of 4-2-3-1 in particular. I've been calling for Rafa to stick with this formation since last season so I'm delighted to see he's finally doing it.

Not quite in the same league as Ronaldinho's on Saturday night but Sissoko certainly looks like he's having fun in Turin!

I can't read those Paul Tomkins articles. They're so blinkered. He often has some decent points but the fact he totally ignores any problems really rankles. Of course it's on the LFC website and you don't expect anything scathing but a bit of objectivity wouldn't go amiss.

Cisse is scoring his head off in France.

Van der Vaart scored a peach.

Heh, I think enough none Liverpool fans obsessing with our problems to cover that ^_^

It's nice to see someone looking at the positives.

True. Tomkin's is insanely optimistic but it makes a change from the endless doom and gloom written elsewhere.

Aye, I constantly seem to get comments everywhere. Out of the blue at work from a united fan "you know Rafa has spent £150 million in the past 3 years" I responded that actually our average player cost is less than theirs, the response was "that's coz ours are better", eh? At a wedding on saturday from a Newcastle fan in a serious tone "you'll be mid - bottom table soon, never been impressed with Rafa, champions league wins work very lucky" ^_^

Anyhow, I shouldn't get dragged into footy banter, it's too easy although kinda half the fun and I love a good moan..:)

I enjoy Liverpool because you never know what you'll get, there's always the promise of doing something great, whilst at the time a good chance of fucking up completely.

He has said he's going to stick with this formation now and rotate less. So far he's been true to his word and if results continue to go for us in this way I don't see why his approach will change for next season. He's still young for a manager and he has shown over time that if something isn't working he isn't afraid to try to change it. I've said countless times that I think he should be given more time as he's one of the best in the business. Some kind of change is imminent at the top, all we can do is remain patient and support the team.

No he's not. He's got 11 in 33 this season. Not exactly prolific, especially considering the division he's playing in.

Well that's scoring his head off for him, and at least it's not his legs off. He's got none left.
