Anyone remember Benfica?

The questions is, if Liverpool can't break down Barnsley...

Well my massive score predictions are out the window...OR ARE THEY.

I now predict 3-3.

Good half for Liverpool but it's worrying that we can have this kind of dominance but no real end product. Story of the season.

It is hard to shake this feeling off, come on Liverpool prove us wrong!

I thought the sending off was very harsh (both bookings) but I am not complaining, especially not now they have two small centre backs. I hope Crouch comes on at half time as we really need to win this game.

Crouchie's having his nachos in the second half.

When Peter Crouch was playing for Southampton a while back, one night he enters a fast food joint and orders nachos. After he places his order, he tells the clerk behind the counter that he will of course not be paying for them since he is Peter Crouch. The clerk being a pacifist and not wanting to rock the boat, delivers the food. Crouch proceeds to eat the nachos right in front of the clerk and comments after every bite, "Crouchie's having his nachos."

Fellow Guardian podcast fan? That story made me laugh!

The first Matrix foul still looks like a yellow to me. The second, Torres went down well after the foul, but the initial pull on him stopped him reaching the ball so...

Lucky bastards! (Get in all the same!)

Brilliant result, although I'm not sure 2-0 was really deserved.

It was pretty deserved. Inter didn't have a sniff.

Well done to the 12 players - I hope the ref is on £100k a week (for one week only)...worth every penny!

Has anyone checked the next 5 premiership fixtures? In my mind they should ALL BE WINS:

Saturday, 23 February 2008

Liverpool v Middlesbrough, 15:00

Sunday, 02 March 2008

Bolton v Liverpool, 13:30

Wednesday, 05 March 2008

Liverpool v West Ham, 20:00

Saturday, 08 March 2008

Liverpool v Newcastle, 15:00

Saturday, 15 March 2008

Liverpool v Reading, 15:00

Mind you - 3 games in 6 days in the middle there? Even so, look at those teams. They should all be beaten. 4 at Anfield, and Bolton are teetering about relegation. Reading ARE in the relegation zone.

The return leg vs Inter in Italy is the Wednesday before the Reading game, FYI.

But then, after that....oh my!

Sunday, 23 March 2008

Man Utd v Liverpool, 13:30

Sunday, 30 March 2008

Barclays Premier League

Liverpool v Everton, 16:00

Saturday, 05 April 2008

Arsenal v Liverpool, 15:00

Fun, fun, fun!!!

Nice one Kuyt. I hope the haterz get off his back now, I'm well glad he got that. Even if it did hit another guy. I'm not entirely sure Materazzi deserved that second yellow, but he must be one of those players with a reputation. Did everyone in Inter's defence get injured or something? They seemed to drop like flies in the end.

Anybody else reading RAWK just now? There is some quality banter going on with some of the Inter lads that post on there, but this is my pick:

We have seen what you can do playing 14 vs. 10 at home.

Needed to wait 80+ minutes to score.

In Milan we will see what you are able to do playing fair 11 vs. 11

FUCK YOU AND FUCK THE MAN WHO YOU IDOLIZE! HE FUCKED US OVER! DON"T BLAME ANYONE BUT HIM!

The ref was dreadful for the whole match blowing up anytime anyone fell over.

I am so happy about the result though, and what a goal from Gerrard you could tell it was going in the moment it left his foot.

It is nice to be happy about Liverpool for a change, and we only needed about a tenth of the chances we created against Barnsley to win :)

Wasn't impressed with Inter Milan - even before the sending off. They were organised, but ordinary. That said, Liverpool were pretty lacklustre. They were so.. slow. Had no ideas at all.

Having said that, they did deserve to win, and even though it got deflected, I think the first goal was superb - he purposely hit it down into the ground so it would spring up over the keeper. Deflection or not, it was going in. Always ace to see the kop go nuts, too.

We had to break down a team that put literally everyone behind the ball for 90 minutes. Any team would have to be patient and wait for the break through against tactics like that. It seems to be Liverpool FC are damned no matter what we do. We've just beat the team leading Serie A by 11 points and the one that was won their league two seasons running. As for any bullshit about Serie A being weak just check out what league has made the most impact in the European Cup / Champions League over the past 20 years.

So so happy with the result last night. We thoroughly deserved the win and to get a second put the icing on the cake. Great goal from Gerrard.......about time he hit the target! :(

Although I think everyone last night played brilliantly I have to say Mascherano looked amazing. The bloke can run and run and keep on running forever. If we don't buy him soon i'm gonna start getting worried. Finnan was superb coming forward and put the best balls into the box, Torres looked lively, Lucas looked pretty good and Hyypia played a blinder. Shame to see Alonso on the bench but I suppose Rafa wanted a more attacking player (Lucas) on instead. I expect him to be playing in the San Siro though. Well done to Kuyt too, he deserved his goal and spent the whole game yet again trying and trying. Occasionally i thought he was too far out on the wing though.

We've got a big big chance now of the quarters! ;)
