Yep, if we win both our games in hand (and I know its a big if) we'll only be 3 points behind Man Utd.

Aye, I think it's about time this team stood up and fucking grabbed a chance handed to them. I'm sick of us not taking chances that could bring us to within grasp of the title.

The last few seasons I think we've gained more points than anyone in the second half of the season, haven't we? By my understanding, we were just to far behind by the time Crhistmas came round to make up the difference.

This year we're still in touch.

Squad rotation seems to prove its worth in the second half of the season. It leaves our players that 10% fresher.

If that rings true this year, and we get the rub of the green away at the Emirates, Bridge and Old Trafford, it could be every bit the four-horse race everybody's hoping for.

You're right. LIVERPOOL FOR THE TITLE!

Exactly, and as i've mentioned a few times before, post Christmas is usually Liverpool's strongest time.

This has been our mantra for a while, no? As I've said countless times in here: I don't expect us to win it this year, but a challenge shouldn't be out of the question. We're on course for that this year, if we can emulate our form from the second half of the last couple of seasons (CL final looming rest fests aside).

That's got to be the most frustrating game I've watched this season.

First time this season I've hit something in sheer frustration (the couch getting a kick when Yossi hogged the ball towards the end).

Still, City set themselves up for a point and defended really well - Dunne and Richards were great.

Thankyou Micah.

Thankyou Dunne.

Thankyou Didi.

Our creative players were terrible all game, Elano & Petrovs first touch was nowhere to be seen.

Wrong thread! Get your own! :(

Rubbish. Title slipping/gone now. These are the sort of games that need to be won.

I'm not as disappointed as I think I should be (?) since City have made their ground a fortress, and with the depleted back line we kind of had (No Hyppia, Agger and Arbeloa was recovering from the 'flu) I thought we did alright. Torres was clearly having a poor game and I was a bit annoyed he didn't get subbed off, let alone any more than using 1 substitution. Still, a point at City's ground it good anyway.

Why did you want Torres taken off? His a player who can do something special in a matter of seconds, I thought Kuyt was hopeless as ever. Liverpool definitely need an decent second striker alongside Torres as the other three are too inconsistent or in Kuyt's case never consistent. Anyway care to tell me his last stand out performance?

On the face of it, yeah - given the performance and chances towards the end, I'd say it's two points dropped and feels like a loss.

As is always the case: We're of the same mind. Seriously, I don't remember ever disagreeing with a post you've made in here. I just wish you'd post more often. :D

He's been far less useful than I envisioned so far this season. I'd say his last stand-out game off the top of my head was the CL second leg against Chelsea last season. That's going some way back and it's clearly not good enough. I'm not sure what's gone on with him. He's played quite well in a few games and played a part in some of our big wins this season but for the most part he's been below what I expect from him. He was one of the players I was hinting at when I said I had a few growing concerns a few days back.

Kuyt has been very disappointing all season. I fully expected him to make another step forward after a good year last year but he just seems invisible every game for us now.

This was unthinkable last year with him a willing worker all over the pitch and involved in so much for us.

It was a disappointing result considering how much we dominated play especially in the second half.

Anyone that can offer me some advice for parking near the ground would receive my undying loyalty. :D

There's loads of car parks, makeshift and proper, around the immediate area - you're looking at a fiver in most cases.

Pretty much taking any road off Breck near the ground will bring you to one.

Legend. Last time I was up it was for an early kick-off. What time would you advise me to aim to get there for? I want to leave enough time to park and that but I've got a couple of kiddies with me and I don't really want to take them into a pub/stand on the street/in the club shop for too long before the game if I can help it.

Hmm, 8pm KO - are most people back at work on Wednesday? I know I am.

If that's the case (i.e. it's just a normal weekday) - there'll be more of a 'surge' to make it to the ground (unlike, a 3pm, for example, where most people are off work and trickle to the ground more), so I'd aim to get there between 6:30-7:00, probably erring more to the late end if you have a couple of kids to deal with for so long before KO.

You may even be able to bag some free street parking if you're early enough (and again, if most people are out working, there'll be more spaces).

Kuyt is terrible but it was a good team performance today! Gerrard didn't have a great game and you can see the players pass to Gerrard out of fear. I do think the team is too scared of Gerrard. It's like they'll have a chance around the box but see Gerrard and pass to him so they don't get moaned at.

It's funny, Heskey had a terrible time for being a willing worker who didn't score goals and yet people were happy with Kuyt doing it.
