The old Man Utd Thread

ropey performance, but a great win regardless. i wasn't confident when Rooney went through. by contrast i was pretty confident when it was Di Maria bearing down on the Arsenal goal.

i think the highlight for me was when the ref booked our player for taking 15 seconds over a throw-in, sparking a confused melee that ate up about two minutes!

a few weeks ago, i think it was the day when later on he made three unbelievable saves against Everton, John Rawling was on Fighting Talk saying De Gea was a dodgy keeper, and the weak link in this United side. bizarre. he's clearly our best player.

Read an interview recently where he said he's getting better playing behind our often makeshift defence. He's getting plenty of practice, there's no doubt about that. The first half was a battle between him and Arsenal's forwards, and they were found wanting in comparison. Was some Jedi shit at times.

As bad as I've seen us play all season and we have all three points and we're in the top four. Not bad, but we can't play Arsenal every week. Hopefully this is the last we'll see of the back three, and hopefully Herrera will actually get on the pitch at some point.

No idea how we won that, we looked so vulnerable. We've come through this sticky period with 4 points from Chelsea, City and Arsenal - it's a sign of how far we've fallen that I'm quite happy with that. Home games against Hull and Stoke next up, six points essential.

4 points from those three, with two games away, would have been okay even under Fergie.

Seems like United haven't had a win like this for ages. Should give them a lot of confidence.

RVP needs to get dropped for Wilson.

i think you might have a point about Wilson. he looked good again, as he has done every time he's played. he seemed to be playing as a right wingback at times yesterday, and he still did well. one pass under pressure out of defence that started a counter-attack was sublime.

Best game of the season yesterday. Carrick and Herrera were class - first time I can recall a United team having more than 75% possession.

Controlled the game from beginning to end pretty much. I know it's Hull but that has to be a boost for the whole team.

Van Persie's strike was beautiful too.
