The old Man Utd Thread

Do we have a secret sheikh sugar daddy? This summer window has made it feel that way. Woodward is behaving like it's Fantasy Football.

We don't need Champions League, we can pay world class players to battle relegation.

Well he has a point to prove.

On the Beeb.

"BBC Sport's Simon Stone, who is reporting that a loan fee of around £6m has been agreed for Radamel Falcao to join Manchester United"

"Well, with 12 hours to go until the transfer window closes, it looks like Manchester United are going to be the day's big movers as they try and complete a loan deal for Radamel Falcao, with the option to buy the player for around £43.5m."

If true, laughing.

God no, but I imagine Monaco are desperate to get his wages off their books and the loan fee is dropping the later in the day it gets. As you've pointed out I imagine United's relationship with Mendes is smoothing* things along as well.

*Generating lots of cash for Mendes.

Thats some serious spending this transfer window.

I saw a tweet that made me laugh. Man Utd have signed a Van Persie replacement before Arsenal did.

Speaking of Van Persie, I've heard something about him needed surgery? Only on twitter with no sources but could explain the deal for Falcao, maybe?

Apparently, he did some ligament damage against Olympiacos last season, Moyes wanted him to have the surgery, but the Dutch FA put pressure on him to 'manage it' otherwise he would've been ruled out of the WC...

Or so the story goes. Certainly going out and getting Falcao lends that some sort of credibility, since Hernandez has gone on loan, Welbeck is looking likely to as well, leaving us short in the striking department should Rooney/RVP get injured.
