Was shocked he brought Mata off and left Nani on. He didn't make any decisive contributions but was using the ball intelligently. After he went off there was no-one trying to find space in between the lines, except when Januzaj came inside occasionally. I hope when/if Van Gaal comes we finally have a manager willing to put more than one creative player on the pitch at the same time.

Sunderland didn't have to do much to get their win, and the score probably flattered us. A completely flat performance. Thought the new manager bounce would last longer.

Yeah you're right. I remember being angry at the time that Mata had gone off and someone else had stayed on, might've been Chicharito as he missed a couple of good chances. Either way it was odd that Giggs took off our best player.

I'm reticent to criticise Carrick and Fletcher to much as they've given us so much over the years, but their limitations as a partnership are still evident. They, like Fellaini, are probably best sitting in front of the defence and spraying the back about, rather than trying to get forward and connect the play. As such when they play together, it's all a bit flat and we struggle to get the ball forward quickly. Our squad is so lopsided.

Vida's last game at OT tonight. Be sad to see him go, but during his pomp, one of the best CB's of the Premier League-era for me. We've had the best years out of him I feel, although wouldn't surprise me if he did a Stam at Inter and enjoyed further successes.

I wonder who else will be running out one last time at OT in a United shirt.

Carrick, Fellaini,

Kagawa, Januzaj,

Lawrence, Wilson.

Debuts for two of our kids. No idea if they are both strikers with Kagawa and Januzaj out wide or if one of the new kids is more of a winger with one up top. Valencia at RB though :doh:

Aww Giggsy and Vidic :(

Yeah that was a little bit emotional actually - Giggs was tearing up and I expected to hear his retirement. What a player.

It's just impossible to forget what he did to his brother.
