Why doesn't Robben ever seem to get booked for diving? He does it constantly, everyone knows he does it, but I don't remember ever seeing him booked for it. If he was, you get the feeling Bayern would be down to 10 men after 20 minutes every week.

Nicky, didn't you watch the champions league final against Barca a few years back? Where we pressed constantly in the first half before looking absolutely knackered in the second, allowing them to run rings around us?

If it was as simple as you are suggesting then I am sure that is exactly what we would be doing.

Heck, we should just play exactly like Barcelona.

No, it's mainly that their passing game is better than ours, so they see way more of the ball, and therefore have more energy to press when they lose the ball. It's not about their fitness (although they are all obviously incredible athletes), it's mainly about their collective technical ability, and the way they have been coached to have a relentless focus on retaining or retrieving possession. Not every team can play that way, if they could everyone would be doing it.

It's imperative that we keep playing, that heads don't drop. We need to make sure we don't concede again. We should be looking to put them under pressure in the last ten minutes, as one goal would put us back in front.

If we start making them have to defend with this scoreline they will feel the pressure, something they are not used to.

All easier said than done of course.

After doing so well to get in front, it's hard to tell if our level dropped or Bayern raised theirs. Probably the former, given we'd contained them pretty well all game, only for them to score about 20 seconds after we did. I would've taken a 4-2 aggregate before the tie though.

Don't worry. You were only an idiot for 22 seconds, haha. Disappointing for sure but it was a lot closer than most of us thought it would be when the draw was made. Unfortunately the United goal seemed to change the goal in Bayerns favour. Over those two legs the performances and team selections has restored a bit of my faith in Moyes thb and it was nice dream even if was for less than half a minute

Evra's goal came too early really. Bayern weren't looking particularly good until then but the goal awakened them and the result was never in doubt after that.

We did better over the course of the two legs than I expected so I guess that's something.
