because im fascinated by the freak show that moyes is making of the club, they need rid of him and fast. I think ferguson handed him this poison chalice knowing it would make him (fergie) look good when moyes tanked. i didnt realise i had to apply in writing to post about it.

stuff cropping up

RVP on Dutch TV: 'Other United players are often in the zones I'd like to play in. I find that a pity.'

Post match interview-

Robin said he was "unhappy with the game, we played bad but they didn't create much either. The chance I had went pretty good but the shot was to hasty and if you only get one chance in a match like this...you need to score it."

But now it gets interesting. Jack van Gelder (interviewer) asked if Robin feels frustrated to be isolated all the time and because of that feels the urge to drop back.

This is RvP's reply: I do, because certain team mates keep playing in my area and constantly moving to me which makes it extremely hard for me to also play there. I now constantly have to make a run to a different position to avoid this.

Interview: Do you know what is wrong with this United?

RvP: Yeah but, I won't point fingers, because I'm not like that.

Surprised the media hadn't picked up on the rumour Joey Barton was peddling last night, which is Vidic apparently changes in a different room and refuses to be part of a group.

Sounds like the sort of nonsense they go in for.

Mind you, still don't understand why Moyes has kept him as Captain. But to be honest, there isn't anyone in that team befitting of it.

I don't think Moyes tactics last night were any different from SAF in Europe, he always played a cautious game away from home. I don't believe the players are inspired by Moyes in the slightest. No movement in the final third at all, seen it time and again this season, the likes of Kagawa and Mata can get into those positions between the lines and look up for a pass and.... nothing. Just players waiting for the ball instead of making runs. So what happens? It gets shifted wide for a woeful cross and it's cleared.

Because it's amusing to see Manchester United in such a state after 25 years of complete and utter dominance? That's certainly why I'm reading the thread at the moment.

Indeed, even with the nightmare season Spurs have had, this still could be the first time we have finished above them since the Premier League started.

Angel isn't saying anything different to the rest of us though, ABC.

I see that. Popping up now is like the morons that come out of the woodwork for the World Cup, saying they're football fans and acting like experts when the biggest tournament in the world comes round.

Moyes has until the end of the season, that was always going to be the case - for sure it's going to be interesting to see if he adapts as it can't continue much like this. I'll stick by him of course, that's the least we can do. Surprised Rooney was willing to put pen to paper over a deal when we have no guarantees (and his lack of confidence over the club's direction before under Fergie), still non-plussed by our results that I'm just waiting for something to happen.

"Mutual consent"

basically:

"We don't want you anymore and as opposed to sacking you, we're just asking you to leave gracefully"

Would be silly for Moyes to leave considering the payout he'd get it sacked.

As stubborn as Fergie is, surely even he can see that Moyes just isn't up to the job. Whether he'd ever admit he was wrong though is another matter.

Would Fergie risk taking over now and doing no better than Moyes? Might sully his rep a tiny bit if things didn't work out.

I don't think for one second that Fergie cares about his reputation, especially with the media. He'd instantly win back the dressing-room, too. Not that I think he would come back though because how would the club ever be able to move on whilst he's around?

How are the fans at Old Trafford responding to the team/Moyes? The last time I read something (would have been maybe a month ago) the fans were still chanting his name/being supportive. Has that mood changed at all recently?

Last home game was the Fulham game where there was still alot of support, but it was definitely less than previous. The vocal fans, home and especially away, up until now have really supported him. The Chosen One Banner is a long way from coming down I feel, and he can't be sacked with that still hanging in the Stretford End. That fucking banner. Next home game isn't until the 16th of March.

I've thought all along that Moyes would be given at least a couple of years before anything drastic was done. I'm not so sure anymore. I can definitely see him still in charge until the end of the season at least but the summer could be interesting.

Would Utd actually sack him before he's even given the chance to overhaul the team and then give things a real go?

Even if he's sacked, the new man coming in will still need to spend £100 million or so on 5 or 6 top players before the post SAF team is properly judged.

Looking in from the outside, apart from Rooney, RVP, Mata, your keeper & Januzi the rest are either well past their best or just not good enough to be first teamers.

There's certainly a massive job on for Moyes or someone else maybe if the board now think they've made a mistake and he's not up to it.

I'd always said that the job to have would be the manager after the one that followed Ferguson, but that was on the assumption that whoever followed would start the rebuilding and get the foundations in place. I think Moyes will get one more window, but if things don't look like they're changing, he could be gone before Christmas, but still leave a total rebuild of your team. Would a top, top manager fancy that kind of rebuild job?
