The old Man Utd Thread

Should've let Gibson have that... anyway as I was about to write a big thing about how a goal seems inevitable and therefore that is moot, own goal by Shawcross. Nani slides it in, and Chicharito could've easily got a touch. Ultimately he created the confusion though, so he claims the goal.

*edit*

Nah, it's a funny backheel thing he does. Can't score a straightforward goal can he?

We've let the gas off a little, understandable with half time approaching, but we were really starting to knock it about very nicely indeed, probably as well as we have all season (for a five minute spell at least). We've got to make this lead safe. That said, Stoke are happy to see this half out in a boring fashion too. There is nothing between their defence and Jones, they're really not bothered about keeping the ball at this point.

Rafael is having an excellent game, and really looks to be developing into the complete fullback.

Well Smalling was way out of position for that goal, leaving Vidic with too many attackers to cover. I've really no idea why we bought him, especially at the cost, as all he's shown us so far is how shit he is.

I tend to agree with what Jon said, Smalling has shown very little so far but then again I don't think he was ever meant to be an instant first team selection, he's going to take years of preparing and moulding to get him to an acceptable level.

I'm sure there's a few more goals to be had in this one.
