Yeah Rooney! Such a wonderful, versatile player who is a constantly evolving and improving force, even in this form. The ITV analysis was great at showing how he's evolved as a striker; he used to only run in from deep, now he's making clever runs in behind all the time. As importantly, he's asking for the ball and getting it.

Ronaldinho against Neville is an accident waiting to happen.

You were saying :)

Anyway, that was fucking INCREDIBLE :D

What a performance from our lads, especially Park, who was everywhere on the pitch tonight. The way we're playing, we can go all the way.

Also, Beckham with almost a tear in his eye when he came on :omg:

Oh yeah... REAL MADRID ;)

Agree. He's come on as a player no end recently.

Yeah, it's no coincidence both him and Fletcher have shown a lot more attacking intent since Ronaldo has left. It almost feels like it took us half a season to realise Ronaldo was no longer on the pitch.

That went rather well, I thought.

And what about Nev for the cross to set up the first goal? I take it all back!
Defensively he's completely past it. Offensively he's the best crosser of a ball in the team.

I'm almost equally please Madrid have been dumped out. Sixth year in a row at this stage I just read. Amazing.

The field now contains Bayern (very beatable), Lyon (not the side they were 2 years ago) and Arsenal (beaten twice already this season). It's looking pretty good at the moment.

The next draw is for the quarters and semis, if they do it the same as last year. I remember then getting Porto and (more than likely) Arsenal and rubbing my hands with glee. You just know we'll get Chelsea followed by Barca this year as karma.

I remember there was a game just before he spent ages out injured, where he got about four shots on target. Anyone else remember that? He can get forward.

Also, I'm not sure it was so much about us being brilliant, as Madrid giving up. We, particularly Rooney, did so well for the first two goals, but AC were pretty abject after that.

As long as Rooney is fit for Inter, I don't really care. He needs a rest, and we can win this without him.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU.

I'm pretty sure the Bundesliga is getting a place off Serie A next year.

Depends on what happens in the Europa league it seems, crazy to think that AC won it a few years back. In fact its even crazier that between 1992 and 1998 an Italian side competed in every single CL final, and now they're at risk of losing their 4th CL place.

Apparently Beckham is saying he didn't know what the scarves really represented, just that it was the old colours of the club. I doubt anyone who was in the stadium for that game could've misunderstood what they were about, so I guess he's just covering himself, but it's disappointing all the same.

Previously, I couldn't have cared less about the thought of Vidic leaving in the summer, but last year's defensive business was well and truly resumed by him and Rio last night. There will be bigger tests, sure, but they look up to them at the moment. The key test for Vidic will be not getting sent off while trying to cope with Torres. If Wigan's defenders can do it for 90 minutes, he should be able to.

United ban the players from talking about Glazer woes

This has to be good news, if they feel they need to gag them then it proves not everyone wants to tow the party line.

Things are starting to hot up now, the Wednesday game did all we could hope for in terms of raising awareness across the world about whats going on, Beckham showing his support is big news in Asia, America and Europe alike.

I just hope we don't lose momentum and stay united as a movement this time, and that the Red Knights can put something tangible together sooner than later.

Personally, I assumed the Glazers would have tried to monetize the protests. I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd secretly started selling the scarves themselves. It's odd that they think the players and staff need to be told to keep schtum, as if SAF doesn't already have them not talking the to press about anything ever! As long as the takeover seems possible, the protests will continue out of the sheer desire to oust the Glazers. They will probably peter out if it all falls apart, though.

MUST started as a very local campaign, and it's passed 100,000 members. We could treble that if fans from all over the world get involved. I agree that Beckham's 'involvement' (he doesn't seem willing to be our posterboy, even though he can't have mistaken the scarf for meaning anything other than what it did) is very important, in terms of taking this thing international.
