The old Man Utd Thread

But that doesn't tell you the length of time they've been out, does it?

Anyway, can't someone just go and do all the donkey work for me then post the findings in here?

Congratulations on your win on Saturday guys. I was out in Staylebridge at the time having dinner with a Utd fan who was actually very nervous about the game and having watched the highlights with him said it probably should have been a draw.

Still, gotta take your chances.

Bit gutted though last time in the Premier League we took 7 points from the Manchester clubs, 0 points this time round...

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks, yeah we were bloody lucky with that one, Wolves should have really got a point out of it.

All big games for both teams from now on, and for the record i'd like Wolves to stay up having played well and been unlucky on a number of occasions so far.

The latter. If they'd had any decent strikers on the pitch, we would have lost today. I hate to say it, but Vidic's heart just isn't in it anymore.

haha unlike us!! Diouf could have had a hat trick - you say better finishing would have finished us off yet dont make the same allowance for us?

I didn't because I was answering the question 'Which was worse, United's defending or Wolve's finishing?'

He wasn't interested in United's attack, therefore I didn't bring it up.

Make sense now? ;)

Feeling a bit nervous about tonight even though I know the chances of Milan doing enough to go through are incredibly slim. As long as we take the chances that will inevitably come our way I think we could ruin them but if they manage to get (another) early goal it could cause problems.

All i'm hoping at the moment is that Neville isn't starting at RB. Will be interesting to see what we do with Carrick out as well, you would assume Park or Valencia would drop in but maybe Gibson will play or he could even stick Berbatov in there to cover the gap between midfield and defense. With the amount of space Milan left there in the last game it would be perfect for him but I just can't see anything other than a 4-3-3.

Missing Carrick is annoying, he's so good at sitting in front of the defence and spreading the ball about. Fletch will probably take the role as disruptor with Scholes lying deep with him, which is not ideal. It's probably an approach which will slow the game down a little, I don't think that's what we want. They need goals, so we should be sitting back and hitting them on the break really, taking risks with the ball rather than playing possession. Shouldn't be too hard, anyway.

I'd like to see 4-4-2, Scholes and Fletcher with Nani and Valencia. Rooney and Berba up top.

Of course we won't start like that, it'll be 4-5-1 with Park in for Berba. Unsure about Gibson, but the manager loves Park in Europe so I think he'll play next to Scholes and Fletch.

Apparently Nesta is a doubt, which would be grand if true, guess we'll know in 20 minutes or so.

Ronaldinho against Neville is an accident waiting to happen.

Niether of them has too much pace, it seems. Also, he's had help from Valencia and Park. Maybe his experience means he still has a part to play against a team like Milan, who don't have much going down the wings.

The game was getting a bit dull before the break, and I think this will continue when they return. The game as a contest is over, really.
