The old Man Utd Thread

Just got to soak up what Villa give us, then break just like that.

They do look very threatening, so many players who can deliver a ball into the box, plus great height to attack the ball. Makes me glad Vidic is still on the pitch.

Really weird offside decision right now, going for us. We can't keep the ball, Villa have a minute to attack. Almost unbearable.

Was a decent game, unbelievable that Vidic didn't see red strait away, what a joke. Saved by committing a foul in the first 3 minutes. Hes about the most cynical fouler in the league at the moment, i don't feel confident with him in one on ones anymore.

Parky was great, as was Berbatov and Valencia, and Owen was actually pretty good and fast untill the injury IMO. Rooney though eh.

On the whole though United deserved it, Kush didn't have a lot to do and Friedel made some good saves.

Do you think Darren Fletcher's early years at Old Trafford will forever taint his reputation with non-United fans?

I ask because pretty much every single one of my Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn, whoever, supporting mates write him off as nothing more than a workhorse.

I maintain he is the complete midfielder. I wouldn't swap him for any other like-for-like player in the league. Perhaps that's the problem. Is there anyone else that plays the same game as him?

Makalele? Essien? Hard to say really...

Well Makelele plays for PSG now and I don't think he was as attack minded as Fletcher. Yeah, Essien is probably closest comparably.

Deep sitting, great passer, terrific shot, in-amongst-it, tremendous appetite. What a player.

Ditto here. I will rave about him, and everyone else will be like 'scotland's finest lol'.
