The old Man Utd Thread

There's some utterly mystifying things being said in the various football threads these days.

Edit - WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK. You'd rather the best player in the world signed for our most hated and bitter rivals, than some team we play once every 10 years in a different country? Mental.

Some batshit insane logic in recent posts. A bloke who scored 26 in 53 last season didnt have his heart in it? Fuck mate, you should try supporting a club John Carew plays for if you want to see somebody who isnt trying. I know Manchester United fans are spoiled with great football and world class players, but wow.

Hypothetically, if he signed for Liverpool, they would've been in so much debt that they'd probably have ended up in league one. City... eh I guess I don't really give a fuck who they sign. They're never going to win anything.

I'm not saying he wasn't trying, he was a model professional in his last season for us. He wanted to be elsewhere though, and I felt this came through in his slightly less brilliant performances.

I definitely agree with this, to me last season he just didn't seem as willing to run at defenders as much. It just shows how incredible a player he is that even when his heart isn't in it he can still score 26 in 53.

When Ronaldo was in the team, almost each match felt like I was watching a team of legends in the making. It felt like you were part of something really special, like we were an unstoppable force that was irresistible to watch.

OK Rooney has 'stepped up' and we may have scored more goals overall, but that wow factor has undoubtedly gone for me. When we lost at Everton, we deserved to loose, that never say die attitude seems to have been extinguished with the current crop of (undoubtedly hardworking) players.

is the game on anywhere tonight?

My local. It's not on TV as far as I can see.

So, are we expecting Rio and Vidic both to make an appearance tonight? I was convinced Vidic will be off in the summer, so it'll be interesting to see if he plays him.

Foster, Neville, Brown, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Berbatov, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Owen, Park, Rafael, Evans, Fletcher, Diouf.

That midfield looks... interesting. Gulp. Or just a sack of shit.

Christ knows why he's in net either. Ferdinand not even on the bench, he really is finished isn't he. I just wish Neville was, would stop the sinking feeling you get when you see he's playing.

So, yeah, best pleased with the tombola selection.
