Milan are too will organised to be threatened by Nani's delivery. Each one just comes right back. Just in general, I think there's not much point breaking as they don't commit enough forward. Just work the ball across the midfield, sitting outside their box, looking for an opening. We need to play a slower game in the second half methinks, holding onto the ball better. None of this pinging it up to the forwards as soon as we get a sniff.

exactly its nights like these that should be perfect for him but i still remember last years final fergie preferred ronaldo to him as striker! There is something not quite right about him yet- and i am a big fan

Yeah those same players were terrible against Arsenal!

In hindsight Berbatov might have been a good bet as their forwards and midfielders are putting in even less effort than I expected. I fancy Valencia coming on after 20 odd minutes and causing havoc down the right.

Utd have defended terribly and probably should be 2-3 nil down but are somehow 1-1 at the break. If they don't get their act together and Milan get their finishing socks on they could get buried here.

Fun game to watch as a neutral.

We haven't defended that badly, that is, when Milan have had the ball. Just some really careless passing. We need to keep the ball above all else in games like these. Evans hasn't been great, weird to see him so apprehensive. Nothing a good screaming at from the boss can't sort? Not that the score isn't great, just we haven't dominated.

Souness is right, you could have been out the tie by now had Milan taken their chances. The likes of Nani, Rafael and Evans simply look out of their depth playing on this stage. But I did always have the feeling that Fergie could you send out much stronger in the second half post-inevitable hair-dryer treatment anyway, so now with you've got the away goal the second half's set up quite nicely.

Nah, I agree with that completely. We're lucky to be in this position so far, having given the ball away in crucial places. We seem to be continuing in that fashion. SAF's drilled possession play into the team for these European nights, so this is odd. Just need to settle into the game I suppose, haven't found our rhythm yet.

Milan on the other hand are making some really crucial interventions, and generally look quite solid. They haven't had to work the ball though, seeing as we've given them all their chances.

The frustrating thing is, Nani has shown he can do this exact kind of ball for us recently. I want him to be not shit again. :)
