I hope this is a turning point for Nani and he'll continue to amaze.

Yeah , he was very good again today, maybe could have scored a couple more, as could Rooney, and he took his foot off the gas a little towards the end, but very pleased for him. Needs to keep at it though and not rest on his laurels.

Cracking game and result for us yesterday!

Everyone played their part too but obviously Nani and Rooney will get all the plaudits, and deservedly so. Both were brilliant, as was Carrick I thought, especially when he went in to the holding role instead of Scholes.

I've always defended Nani whenever he's been criticized on forums or from friends as I've always liked him as a player, and because I knew he could perform so much better than what we've seen from him. Its good to finally see him realizing some of that potential, and getting credit from fans. Long may it continue, he could become pivotal to our success this season.

Lets hope we can kick on now and get a big run going to finally put some pressure on Chelsea.

I know it didn't show on Saturday, but I think Terry has already put the pressure on Chelsea for us. With all the talk about his future as England captain, he's not really fit to lead Chelsea in a title run-in either, and yet it looks like he will. His team mates weren't even sure whether or not to touch the dirty foetus-killing villain when he scored, and that wonderful young Tevez fella looks like he's made himself leader of Team Bridge.

As long as the United players do their job, Sir Alex is going to be like a paddle seller up Shit Creek when the appropriate moment presents itself.

Nice couple of points dropped there by Chelsea at Hull, looks like the title race is on big style, especially if Arsenal take point against Chelsea at the weekend.

Yeah, if those two draw and we win by three clear goals we'd go top!

Our form is rising whilst all the other title contenders are seemingly in a lull. It's a bit ridiculous, how we only ever find our form after christmas, and before that have to churn out 1-0 wins. Still, better than having it the other way around.

Well SAF's birthday is only a few days after Christmas so he just gets one big present of good football at the end of December which usually gets worn out by the summer.

What a complete waste of money he's been. Wasn't there a medical done before he came to us? Bayern must have been laughing their heads off getting over £20million for him.

I don't reckon we'll see him again to be honest, as Dizogg's said, even if he does get back in the team, his peak has well past and he'll never play at full strength ever again.

Yet another position we need a signing for.

I'm surprised you bought him considering he was injury prone at Bayern too. And it's too early to say he is going to be well past his peak or stuff like that unless you see him play again. Lots of top players have come back from serious injuries. But I would be surprised if you wanted to name him the champions league squad. He hasn't played for 18 months, was supposed to be due back in September/November and once he didn't make that deadline it was unlikely he would play again this season. He missed the carling cup games, fa cup and the meaningless champion league group ties to help him get back to fitness. It would have been hard for him to come back now and play in all these important fixtures coming up.

Of course they was a medical before he signed. It obviously didn't show that he had severe tendinitis though.

I'm still hopeful he'll come back strong, I'm an optimist.

Worst ever signing by far. People go on about Djemba x2 and Veron, this guys has been much more disastrous. It's not just the fee though, it's the 5 million in wages over the 18 months that he hasn't played.

This isn't a guy that was unlucky and smashed his leg up when playing, we signed a player the medical staff knew had tendonitis.

Jumpers knee which is the variant he has, that incurable condition that causes pain when he jumps and turns quickly was deemed as something that could be managed.

Should just claw back whatever he is insured for and accept he has no future.

Yet another position we need a signing for.

That I disagree with, I think Fletcher is magnificent. Maybe Hargreaves has a better shot and cross on him, but in terms of core requirements for his role he has as much energy, desire and pace as Hargreaves. Neither where a Keane type smashing ball, both are all about pressing.

Of course they was a medical before he signed. It obviously didn't show that he had severe tendinitis though.

Come off it, it's an incurable ailment they knew he had that was only going to go one way.

So why didn't the medical show it up? It's obviously a severe condition and something he's been carrying a while, if not all his life (I don't know the technicalities of his condition).

I'm assuming they thought it was manageable and would not be this bad. A gamble maybe, but I doubt they were incompetent or just wanted to spunk money away on a player who never plays.

I can only think its one of those chronic illnesses which is difficult to predict the severity of in the future, and there being a possibility that it could be successfully managed.

Although he isn't training full time yet (3 on 1 off or something) Ferguson has implied the problem is as much, if not more, mental than physical.

So the most debt-ridden club in the world is perfectly ok with paying this dude tens of thousands of pounds a week, even though he's incapacitated because he thinks his knees hurt?

Fair enough.

Okay, so he's played about 40-odd games for us, and cost about £20m. Before adding wages, that's £500,000 a game. Um, yikes. Well, I suppose we signed him because we knew how fantastic he could be when fit, and took the risk. You have to assume he's insured, though if they'll pay up for a pre-existing issue, who knows? I don't really care about that, I just hope he comes back from the dead.

Quite right, Ferguson should have got in his Tardis and travelled to the future before we signed him so he could have accurately predicted this exact scenario.

Didn't Van Nistelroy have a similar problem when he came to Man U? He definately had a potentially career ending condition already raising its head but they took the gamble, and it obviously paid of in spades there.

Maybe they got cocky and thought it would be the same for Hargreaves.
