The old Man Utd Thread

What's that, seven defeats this season? Not fucking good enough. That was up there with losing the Champions League final. Embarrassing.

Is anyone having a good season? Even Chelsea have had some shitty runs.

Man U weren't that bad Elmo.

They fucking were.

As I said at the start, it was a ridiculous team selection. Wellbeck and Neville are total shite and shouldn't be playing for the club. Obertan, Gibson and Berbatov looked out of sorts and Evans and Fabio were both a bit rusty.

I don't mind Fergie bringing in kids, but not so many at once. One at a time around more senior players would give them a more stable team to play in and also build their confidence. It's just retarded the way we've been doing it recently.

When Giggs and Valencia came on, Leeds knew they only had 30 minutes left to defend their lead, which made it pretty pointless.

Fucking terrible tactics all round. I wouldn't be surprised to see us win nothing this season after all the losses and shit play. The team needs seriously strengthening in a lot of areas. I just wish it'd happen, but I can't see it.

An utterly embarrassing performance. Yet again Utd looked bereft of ideas to break down a team. Rooney and Berbatov looked like they hadnt a clue of how to play together. A shambles. Only Valencia looked like he had an willingness to attack with a bit of urgency when he came on. Glad Evans was back. He had a good game even though he had to look after Brown who was playing like a league two defender. You might say but he was only put in the team 30 mins bofore the game but in no way is that a defence for a player paid thousands a week.

Utd need a pacey attacker who plays on the shoulder, lookin to get in behind and who actually spends his time in the box looking for the ball as opposed to 20 yards up the pitch. Again, an embarrassment all round.

I thought it was a strong United team on paper - sure, Neville is way past it but Fergie has very high hopes for Wellbeck, Gibson and Fabio, and didn't you lot only sign Obertan in the summer? Gotta take a look at him sometime.. and the rest of the team was basically full strength.

Leeds were simply the better team, and their fans were louder too.

Nah, the only first team players were Rooney and Bebatov (and arguably brown/evans), but Berbs was shit mainly. I don't doubt Leeds wanted it more, but there was no way it was a strong United starting team.

Besides, I really feel our squad is paper thin in quality these days. If we don't play our first choices then second choice seems like a gulf of difference.

Gibson and Anderson as a midfield combo really lack the ability to pass the ball as well as Fletcher and Carrick. Pitch didnt help as it is going through the usual mid-season mudfest. The midfield was much too inexperienced and lacking in shape.

I also have to say im starting to lose faith in Berbatov. He really isnt doing enough. He doesnt have to run around like Tevez but more and more games are passing him by and for large portions he is a passenger.

What's wrong with playing our strongest team for every match anyway? Why all the constant changes?

I know we've been struggling with injury for a lot of the season, but why don't we play as strong as we possibly can? Surely it'd make for better football.

Kuszczak, Evans, Brown, Berbatov & Rooney were all the strongest players you could've played given current injuries and absences - Anderson isn't, but he did cost around £17 million so should be able to do a job.

Interesting that so far Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U have all put out strong teams for the third round - everyone taking it seriously this year! Be interesting to see what Arsenal do in a bit.

Berbatov, Neville, Welbeck, Gibson and Michael fucking Owen were the absolute definition of gash today. Brown didn't seem 100%, Obertan and Anderson were too casual, Kuzcwhatever was hesitant for the goal and his kicks were shit. When Valencia came on (he should've started) he wasn't involved enough. Rooney was good, but even he seemed a little jaded by the end, switched out to the left.

That isn't a starting line up I'd expect in the FA Cup, let alone against Leeds. That was a Carling Cup XI and they played like it.

Wrong. The back five was the strongest available to us due to injuries, the forward two also. Anderson and Gibson start plenty of games, Welbeck and Obertan show great promise and have played league games this season. Don't sell Leeds short, that was a very strong United side and we were fucking shit.

It wasn't strong at all though.

Where were Vidic and Evra in defence? Where were Fletch and Carrick in midfield? Why weren't Giggs and Valencia on from the start?

It was a shit line-up and a shit performance.
