Chelsea and Liverpool loosing? Blimey.

Because of a beach ball from a Scouser :D Almost as good as that cluster of balloons that fucked City the other year. Apparently it was 7 minutes of extra time today for them, bias obviously.

Some set of results that... though I wasn't laughing so much at 4:45, I thought we were going to add to that set of results. Reckon we'll see an outcry over the extra 40 seconds Bolton had today over the allocated 4 that allowed a Bolton effort?

Jut to ground y'all, it was a pretty poor performance all round today, especially second half. Danny has once again proved to me he isn't prem material and holy fuck, get the shit rid of Nev please.

The big dutch did his best to throw it away a couple of times too, although it was quite hard to see from the Stretford end.

3 points though and back to the top. Let's just be thankful we're playing around with shit opposition. I don't see the Champ's League being this easy.

As much as it pains me to say it (and he actually had a couple of good moves today) I think you are right. I'd like to think he is kept around for the benefits to the team he provides other than on the pitch, see Beckham and England. In a league title side that really isn't enough

Why does it pain you to say it? He's been drifting around for the last few years like a spare part. Although he's been a great motivational piece for the younger players, he's had no place in the team since he came back from injury.

I think it's really time to get rid of a lot of the dead wood we've got hanging around and build for the future.

You're being way too harsh. He's not dead wood. He assisted one of the goals today. And as already pointed out, there is more to being in a squad than just being able to give sterling first team performances every game. He hardly ever plays anymore anyway. And lastly, these older plays do have second winds. The amount of times I've read Giggs is past it and now look. SAF doesn't do charity and he must see a chance the Nev might be back in a bigger way than right now. And what exactly is there to be so poisionous and rash about? Of all the old crop players, Nev deserves loyalty and a bit of patience.

Aye sorry, I was a bit pissed last night. I know what you're saying, but I don't believe he'll ever have that second wind. Yesterday you could see his decision making, pace and skills have gone. The only thing he has left is his passion, which as you say is the one thing he can bring to the younger players. He's served us well and full credit to him, but I wouldn't be bothered if I didn't see him in a United shirt again.

It's not just Neville though, I always feel there's a weak link in the team Fergie puts out against so called weaker opposition and I really think there are quite a few positions that need strengthening.

He's only 18 or isnt he? Give him a chance, he's got the skills just needs to mature into a proper player but i agree about Neville since his big injury lay off he's looked past it, he did well enough yesterday though but i cant see him playing if the Da Silvas are fit (which is rarely it seems). as much as he's done for the club, he should be given a heros send off at the end of the year, something akin to the Long Walk, Judges talk to the underworld of Mega City 1 in Judge Dredd would be appropraite, hunting out scousers in the lower leagues.

Edit: Oh what other dead wood do want rid of and who would you buy?

I've been willing to give Nani a chance, but hes not really cut it yet, if we could get anywhere near even half the money back on him come summer time or even January (assuming he doesn't improve) we should try for someone like Silva or even Young IMO.

Nani's problem is his decision making, he's shown that when he plays a more direct passing game he can be a bloody good player. The problem is that Nani and a lot of European players who come to the PL think that this isn't the best way to play and resorting to not trying to run through defenders at every opportunity is second best. You also have the issue that decent, proper, wingers are seriously rare. Young has the potential but is still unproven at the highest level and Silva isn't really a conventional winger.

It still amazes me that people are 'not writing off Valencia just yet' and that he is 'due more time', you'd think the the likes of Ronaldo, Fletcher and Giggs don't actually exist. Jon writing off Welbeck at every opportunity is bordering on madness too.

Valencia has settled in as well as we could have expected this soon in. We all hoped he would prove a miracle scoring in every game, but I do think hes done well too. I love watching him, hes so strong and tenacious, and can provide some truly lovely crosses into the danger zone. Saying that, he could have scored a few sitters which fell to him, but his confidence will come with time.

I wouldn't even mention him and Nani in the same breath when it comes to under performing though, and its a bit unfair to even be talking about him in negative tones so early into his United career.

The thing with Valnecia, as fine as he is, is that he is never going to reach a level that would deserve first team placement at Man U. He is an O'Shea. A Johnssen. A Butt. A good utility player waiting to be replaced by genius at the first opportunity.

The annoying thing about Nani is you sense he could reach such heady heights but somehow can't focus enough to get there.
