The old Man Utd Thread

Jesus thank god for that, my heart sank when RVP scored then. Phew but it was offside for sure.

Fletcher was man of the match for me, he was immense today. Great save from Foster to early in the 2nd half which kept us in it.

Did we deserve the win? probably not.

:o

Just papering over the cracks at the minute. We seem void of a creative spark.

Exactly. You look at a midfield of Nani, Carrick, Fletcher and Valencia and it's not particularly inspiring in an attacking sense. I don't think Ferguson helped things by putting Rooney on his own up front though. When Ronaldo was here he could get away with that type of thing more because Ronaldo could make something out of nothing or get the ball and really run at the defenders. Valencia and Nani aren't in that league so there was no real outlet. I think our wing area is very worrying right now.

The officials made that moment extra special. They must have taken over two minutes to sort it out and then immediately blew the whistle. It helps that Wenger had no cause for complaint. Did he say he didn't see the bottle in his post-match interview?

But yes, we performed better than that when Liverpool beat us 4-1. The play is truly uninspiring so far this season and the completely unforced sloppiness this evening reminded me of the CL final. Not looking forward to the derby match.

To be honest I can understand the worry, but we always get stronger as the season goes on so with VDS, Rio and Owen H to return to the side then I think there is nothing to really worry about - to be honest I would like to see more of welbeck and kiko and to start Berbs and Rooney every fucking match !

Macheda was injured as far as i'm aware although he did play for the reserves midweek. I'm slightly surprised Welbeck hasn't been given any time on the pitch yet although when all the cup games start coming i'm sure he'll be given a chance. Have to say i'm not too worried about VDS coming back, I think Foster has done well and he'll only get better with more games. Hopefully Rio/Evans will be back soon, as well as Rafael.

Didn't see the performance but it does sound somewhat dissapointing. The centre of midfield is still a real worry though, only Fletcher has put in anything like the quality of performance we'll need to retain the title.

That Nani pass on the break to Berbatov which he then bollocksed.

That was a wonderful pass.

That is the future.

Nani.

I beleive.

Watch the slow-mo replay. The ball bobbled up like a bitch as he was striking it.

Nani's miss was criminal.

Are you being serious!?

Torres did not dive or try to claim a pen..

If you aren't blind you can clearly see Lucas' right heel get stood on...

He is being pulled as he turns!!!

fix the fuck up!

Hang on, please can you explain why he flings his head and arms back and appears to scream as if he's in excruciating pain? He did dive, then realise he'd made a howler so just lay on his back. The beef with Lucas is not the foul, more his reaction after where he runs to the ref and starts whinging for a yellow to be produced. It was a free-kick, but a yellow that warrants a sending off?

The middle as I pointed out last season is a big problem for Utd. Anderson could have been the man to step up, but if what I've read is true, he may not get the chance. Fletcher is shit man, accept it. Rooney laid one on a plate for him yesterday and he didn't even work the keeper, then he slides in like a fuckin maniac in his own area and somehow no penalty is given. He'll get back and make 5 yard passes backwards and sideways for ya all day. THAT IS IT!

When January comes Fergie needs to splash the cash on a left and central midfielder.

He could well have just been schitzing out because he fucked the chance. It looks a lot more dramatic in slow-motion. The Lucas thing... did he wave an imaginary card at the ref? I didn't see him do that, but if he did fuck the little snitch. If he just went to the ref and said this guy keeps fouling me, which he was the whole game, then he has a right to. The second yellow was issued for persistant fouling, the ref made that clear.

It was a light response to Disciple coming in here (again) on the wind up.

I dont know what "fix the fuck up" means.

And Fletcher is most definately not shit.

I did think that Nani redeemed himselft with that sublime pass, only for Berbatov to blow it.

We're missing a game winner. We only have Rooney, and playing him on his own up front is ludicrous when there's noone able to get goals from midfield.
