The old Man Utd Thread

Dunno, the landscape has changed so much in the last 12 months that if he doesn't get the Prem next season he might look at it and think it's a tricky ask for him to get it again.

Ferguson has often said he'll retire when his body isn't up for the challenge anymore. The challenge of building title winning teams is what drives the man and if we lost the title this season I would say he would probably be less likely to retire than if we won. Another reason is that he has often stated how much he likes working with young players (lol paedo) and at the moment we have the most promising group of youth players at United since Giggs etc.

We kick off against Boca at 17:30 tomorrow, thankfully I finish work at 5 so will be home in time. Valencia will be starting which is good.

England and Serbia are through to the semi's of the U19's (not against each other). Wellbeck scored a brace against Slovenia in a 7-1 thrashing while Ljajic provided another assist in Serbia's 1-0 victory over Turkey.

Well, yeah. Chelsea under Mourinho bored me to tears.

I think in his last season or two at Chelsea that is true but not so accurate when you look at his first season Chelsea, they played some exciting stuff at times.

I guess he used what was at his disposal and made the best of the players he had, no one really knows how he'd play if came to United. I can imagine him turning our current crop of players into a boring defensive team.

I'm pretty sure Fergie said this yesterday in his Press conference actually:

"We had hoped he would be joining us but he is still in rehabilitation," said United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He has had major operations on both knees and we are not rushing that."

And i've noticed that all the news sites seem to be basing their 'Hargreaves out til January' stories on that one quote, unless i'm missing something?

But yeah, might be a few weeks behind schedule, so misses Germany but is there any indication it will be longer than that?

Here's some pics. I saw Bayern vs Steaua Bucharest. Me and three mates go and see a Champions League match once a year now. Only rule is no English teams. This year we're going to Madrid for either Real or Athletico, depending on who's at home at the time.

See that light green square to the right of the half way line? That opens up and the dressing rooms are underground. It was like some secret lair in a Bond film!
