The old Man Utd Thread

Yeah, he's known for his 'humour', and there's no way he'd wear that crop top otherwise. Clearly he's just borrowed it off his girlfriend, or something like that. It'll probably have stretched a bit...

Looks like Tevez is going to City. He wants to stay in England, he can't go to Liverpool surely out of respect for our fans, so City it is. Would still cause a fuss but less of a fuss.

I'm not too bothered, but why couldn't he stay at United?

Surely they'll be working on a deal now, which would cover his fee and there'd definitely be more football now Ronaldo's goe. The only reason for him to go to city is for the huge wage, and if that's the kind of player he is, we're better off without.

Jesus man, he bust a gut for us and yeah i want him to stay, but he's hardly king scumbag for going to City and getting paid loads for it when it seems like he's not wanted by the club he worked hard for. His attitude on the pitch says more "about the kind of player he is" than the fact he may or may not go to a club thats offering him a boat of cash, not like he's done what Ashley Cole did is it?

So maybe being part of something special like the re-birth of a club, and new-found success has nothing to do with it what-so-ever? City are building something, have a much better set of fans than Utd, and will likely offer him garunteed first-team football.

I think Noel's all right actually. He's always come across well on Soccer AM; never scared of taking the piss out of himself. Plus, they performed YNWA the night we won in Istanbul.

Fair point, but Liam is a royal cunt.

I don't even know where to start with that.

Sounded like he doesn't like Ferguson to me, no way is he going to stay if he doesn't like the manager.

Yeah, I think they had a bit of a falling out, didn't like being used the way he was. Its pretty dispicable how the club have treated him realy, seems like Gill was trying to get the price down, always good for a player's confidence.

You get the impression the club would never have even offered the £25 million if someone 'better' came along.

I don't have a problem with not wanting to renew his conrtract if you think he doesn't fit in as well as you want and you can get someone who fits better, but to string him along like this is pretty low. He deserves better as hes always given him all for us, and the club have done a fine job in destroying the loyalty of player who could have potentially played for us for years and years and who the fans love to bits.

Saying that, I can see it form both sides, I think he actually played more than Rooney and Berbatov overall this year IIRC (obv mostly fro the bench and not starting big games) and with 3 great strikers, someone has to be left out (neither Rooney of Berbatov ever complained). And although his work-rate was immense and he obv added a lot to the game his goal ratio has declined again (again lack of playing consistency doesn't help - unless you are called Ole)

We may not get someone to replace Ronaldo as a player this summer, but I doubt we will ever replace Tevez as a person. Sorry if that sounds lame.

Best to accept I'm right and keep schtum then. :)

Out of all the points you made, you're only right on the last one and that's something I already said I could see happening if he stayed at United. About time you kept 'schtum', yeah?

It's not lame. It's a good point.

Don't let tbb see all those grammatical errors though, or his cuntishness will come pouring out once again!

So they're not building something? and of course you won't agree that they have a better set of fans, but I'll take the consensus of every non ManU fan over yours I think.

Where are you from?

I live in Manchester and I'd say I probably know just as many City fans as United. To be honest, I can't see any difference, we all get along fine. Nothing like you make out anyway.

And no, City aren't building anything. They're trying, I'll give them that, but they'll struggle to attract decent players without the prospect of Champion's League footy, and they won't be able to offer that until they get some decent players. The only players they'll attract are the greedy ones and I doubt once they start earning their wages they'll be too bothered about trying too much.

I'm from London. Guess what... we travel to away games! we meet fans from everywhere. Strange eh?

Their fans sing a lot more than yours, talk a whole lot more sense than yours, and aren't arrogant twats who think that if anyone doesn't want to go to their club they're either greedy fucks who don't care about winning or scared of the challenge.

We could always ask everyone who doesn't support Utd or City if they'd be kind enough to answer this question in the football thread?

Be my guest.

I really don't get why you come in here. You're abusive and you'll obviously support anyone above our team. You sound just like one of those 'arrogant twat' United fans you keep going on about.

Hold on a minute, I was discussing football until you came with the usual shite. Who did I abuse? With some of you no-one can say anything against Utd, or it's seen as blasphemy or something. I don't support any team, but QPR, unless it's a european game, or I have money on it. YOU made a ridiculous statement that the only reason anyone would go to City is because of a big wage, which makes them greedy, so who's arrogant?

Watching the U-21s Serbia v Italy at the moment, Italy are doing better (apart from their main strikers), but every attack from Serbia is coming straight through Tosic who is having an excellent game. Looks like you've got a bit of a gem there.

He does look good, doesn't he? I look forward to seeing him feature in the squad a bit more often next season.

Read that again. See the irony?

Enough now anyway, I really can't be arsed.

I don't think the club have treated him badly, they always said they would sort it out at the end of the season (before transfer madness kicked in he wasn't worth 25 million) and then Tevez and Joraborakakorabin started talking. Before the Ronaldo transfer that 25million could well have been better spent elsewhere, now we have the money to buy other players too it could just be a case that bridges have been burnt.

Last season when everything was going well it was difficult to criticise anyone but this year Tevez's limitations have been far more apparent. We could stick 5/10 million on top of his transfer fee and get Benzema, Villa or maybe even Aguero. No contest really. Doesn't mean I won't be sad to see him go, just like Ronaldo he's given me some of the best memories of the last couple of years but life moves on!

Anyway, Tosic played well for Serbia. Naturally left footed, pretty strong for a dwarf and ran the channels all day long. Looks like he could be a safer bet than Nani for closer games and for £5million he could well be another Park or even better. He certainly outshone most of Italy's attack. Does anyone know if Ljajic is in the Serbian squad? Couldn't find details of the bench anywhere.

Is that the same fans who deride Utds for glory hunting yet were queing round the block in there hundreds to get season tickets the day they got bought over? Or was that just coincidence? I dunno who you support but whoever it is you give them a bad name, all you do is come in here a pick arguments.
