The old Man Utd Thread

You could just as easily argue that it's the team not being at it's best that is holding him back though. I think it's a mixture of both.

Regards yesterday I thought Wellbeck played really well. Had some lovely touches on the ball and looked dangerous. I'm quite looking forward to seeing him develop. Fabio looked great too, I think I will actually spunk in my pants when both he and rafael play in the first team together for the first time.

I reckon Rafael will break into the first team regularly sooner than Fabio. Purely because Fabio has to displace Evra, who I would argue is one of our most consistent players and one of the best left-backs in europe, while Rafael only has to displace Neville, who's getting on a bit (though doing well recently) and Brown who did a decent job at right-back last season but who doesn't really look a natural there, certainly not in an attacking sense.

Welbeck's jinking run in the first half reminded me so much of Kanu, was uncanny. The thing that I've been impressed with Welbeck is his maturity, he knows how to play football and thats a good thing for someone who is only 18 years of age.

Fabio was brilliant too, just like his brother he didn't seem nervous at all. One of his first touches was a one to with Ronaldo and then flicked it past the full back, ran round him and clipped in a nice cross with his weaker left foot. All of this at 18 years of age. So bloody good to see! I too will probably spunk in my pants when the twins play together!

So, these are our current fit players:

United (from): Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, Neville, Vidic, O'Shea, Chester, Eckersley, Ronaldo, Carrick, Fletcher, Gibson, Possebon, Scholes, Giggs, Cleverley, Berbatov, Tevez, Macheda, Brandy, Petrucci.

Giving us a likely team against West Brom of:

Van Der Sar,

Fletcher, Neville, Vidic, O Shea

Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs

Tevez, Berbatov

And the Everton game has been moved forward 2 days due to that sodding replay! 12 first teamers currently out of action. Ronaldo isn't 100% either due to illness. I don't ever remember an injury list as bad as this.

To be fair, west brom have a giant injury list as well, including 6 centre backs so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

so where can we watch tonights game then? Not on Sky sports or Setanta

apart from the stadium - don't try to be smart!

Luckily for me, my local shows all the matches through those dodgy foreign channels and it's only a 30 second walk away!

Great news for the team as well, they've kept that quiet haven't they?!
