He wouldn't even start, would he?  He's an attacking midfielder, and we have Pogba and Fernandez.

We should be going for Upamecano and a defensive midfielder.

Pogba and Bruno can't start every game. Rotation is important! We saw that after the Covid break and I don't really think Lingard/Pereira/Mata/Mctom/Fred are good enough to replace either of those two.

'Monitoring' :sherlock: I'll believe it when I see it! Fingers crossed though.

He was left out of the Ajax friendly today and someone high up at Ajax said it was because of transfer stuff. It's gonna happen soon :eyebrows:

Right, Pogba and Fernandes looked totally gassed by the end (a lot of the first team seemed to be running on fumes from maybe the FA cup semi-final onwards) and without them performing, we looked far less threatening. So in the very short term, it would be a plus that he's fresh given the Eredevise got cut short.

It's not the most important area, but I feel like one good signing could help trigger others. Helps you recruit if you can show how you're strengthening elsewhere I'm sure.

But my point is that there are huge problems with our squad in terms of a lack of cover, but central midfield is the area where we are strongest in that regard. Fred and McTominay are good deputies in their own way, and Mata could play in the Fernandes position. It would strengthen the squad, but if money is as tight as Woodward is claiming, we should prioritise the areas where there is a huge drop off in quality between the first team and the bench, which is virtually every other area of the team apart from the goalkeeper.

Yeah, if this signing is happening instead of Sancho for example, then keep it.

Course it is. Sancho should have already been a done deal. Have we even put a bid in for him yet?

Anyway, Messi goes to City, Barca then get Sancho because we’ve dawdled about so much.

God I hate the Glazers/Woodward so much.

is that not 'dazzle camo' a concept I've never understood but apparently it works to disguise a ships bearing and speed, in this case you can't see how slow Maguire's tracking back is without the GPS data

or is that the Greek prisoner uniform ?

Yep, looks shite.

"Offered" may mean a loan. As long as there is an option to buy we should take it imo. He seems a cracking player. I don't think a left back is a priority - him arriving would likely mean Shaw on the bench (or maybe popping up as a left-sided centre back more often) and Williams providing cover for AWB on the other side. Seems like an opportunity to add an extra dimension to our attacking play without breaking the bank, mind.
