no? that's alright then. However it sure does fucking look like it. I'm not saying he intended to injure him, i mean look - hes not even looking at the guy. but you can scrub yourself through the initial tackle and if you play it full speed you can see the time from impact to him holding his head once hes worked out he's hurt himself checks out.

Yeah you've conclusively proven your point here. The impact was of course so damaging that the medical staff didn't even check on him and he was up again seconds later.

BBC RM Sport: "Harry Maguire is one of three arrested by the Mykonos Police Dept. Statement: 'A case file was opened against the trio for the occasional offenses of violence against officials - court officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an employee.' "

Blimey

Look forward to seeing him continue our tradition of naughty captains. Cantona, Keane, Rooney and Harry!

Chelsea and Arsenal all doing business around us. Meanwhile... :coffee:

Shades of Mou finishing second and then not being supported by the board. Hopefully it's all just being kept under wraps rather than absolutely nothing actually happening!

Nope, clearly nothing is happening.  How are we so bad at this?  The board don't seem to realise the advantage that doing your business early brings.  Part of our shaky start to last season was down to Maguire and Lindelof struggling to form a centre-back partnership because Maguire was signed at the last minute.  We're shambolic.  I saw a clip of Ole talking to one of the board apparently about the Sancho transfer.  Someone had lip-read what he was saying.  From memory it was something like, "They want more money.  <he makes a rubbing coins together gesture> Get it done.  Tuesday."  This was about two weeks ago, before the deadline Dortmund imposed, and we appear to have walked away now.

Lindelof apparently peformed a sort-of citizens arrest, after a thief attempted to steal an elderly woman's purse in his home town. He also managed to restrain himself from beating up the police when they arrived:

I didn't realise there has always been this invisible moral chasm at the heart of our defence, to be honest.

Chelsea have signed/about to sign Havertz, Ziyech, Chilwell, Thiago and Werner.

We’re fucking about haggling over a few quid and bidding for players once they’ve agreed to join other clubs.

Woodward gonna Woodward.

All the best centre back partnerships have one good centre back, and one evil one.  Like Bruce and Pallister, for example, or Adams and Bould.

Regarding our failures in the transfer market, isn't this just another example of the club failing to back the manager the season after we qualify for the Champion's League?  They did this to Mourinho after we finished second, and it contributed to the shitshow that was the next season.  They then spent some money that summer (and eventually in January) to get back into the CL.  Now we're there, there's someone (and I suspect it's actually the Glaziers rather than Woodward necessarily) who's saying, "Why do we need to spend any money?  We're in the Champion's League.  The squad is good enough to do that, and that's all we need to do."  Champion's League is the limit of our ambitions, and the owners, who do not understand football, think that there is no need to improve the squad.  Of course scraping in there one season is no guarantee that you'll get there again.

The Sancho saga is just ridiculous.  He would improve us.  He's available.  He wants to come.  We have the money.  We are just quibling over the price, ignoring the fact that a player of his quality commands that sort of price tag.  We're claiming that the transfer market has changed due to Covid-19, ignoring the evidence of other teams spending the same amounts as they usually would anyway.  The prices Man City and Chelsea are paying for players is pretty much what you would have expected pre-covid.  If we were saying, "Well perhaps that money would be better spent on other areas" and going after a world-class centre-back and defensive midfielder, then there would be some merit in that, but we seem to be going for cut-price right wing options who don't even look like being massive upgrades on Lingard and James.  Are we expecting Rashford, Martial, and Greenwood to play every game?

We need two or three genuinely top class players - a long-term replacement for Matic, a Centre back with pace to partner Maguire, and another forward to bolster our options up there.  Probably a right-sided forward as that's where the squad is thinnest.  If the club flexed it's financial muscles and went and just fucking signed the best available options in the world in each of those positions, we'd be getting somewhere.  We have the money.  We are a rich club, and our owners are billionaires.  The problem is that they are leeches.

That was a bit of a rambling rant.

Fair play to Harry for doing that interview with BBC, hearing his version of events it sounds terrifying and he must feel very angry at it all. He's clearly visibly upset at how this affected his sister especially. What a shit situation... I hope it all works out and he's able to clear his name. I also hope our fans stick by him, he's going to need a lot of mental support.

I saw Harry's interview earlier and I thought it was bollocks. It appeared very false in my opinion.

Obviously I'd love for him to be genuine and it all wasn't his fault but I can't help but think he's had a few too many with the boys and a little spat has got out of hand... And he didn't handle it very well.
