The old Man Utd Thread

Jude Bellingham is in talks with Man United and is at the training ground at the moment. I’ve seen him live a couple of times and he was the best player on the pitch. If you get him, that will be a great signing. Seems very level-headed, has his dad as his agent and is so assured on the ball. Think Rooney level of promise, he seems that good.

If we can push ahead with further signings in the summer, similar to those that have already come in. Such as Sancho etc.. I will be extremely excited. It will probably take another 2-3 years to get to Liverpool/City level but let's hope this is the start of our own journey back to the top.

@Stopharage Apparently he had a face to face with Fergie at Carrington. We must be very serious. Haven't seen him play personally but supposedly he's running games in the Championship at 16, which is a bit absurd.

The away leg with LASK is going to be played behind closed doors. That's got to be gutting for them - surely this is a pretty historic game for them, and their fans won't be able to attend.

If we can get both Grealish and Sancho, plus a top striker... dreamy shit right there

Greralish £70, sancho £120, and florentino Luis £??...i duno...45? for me as the singings to really add to the team...but....im sure sancho is more a left sided player, and we really need a right side player...maybe leon baily

while selling pogba £110, (and if the rumours are true), de gea £75 to recoup most of the cost!

One sour note of the season in regards to player recruitment is freezing players who refuse to sign a new contract. A new contract they refuse to sign because they don't believe they'll get the playing time. So you freeze them out thus proving their hesitance true. :sherlock:

Should have seen Gomes this season.

A caller on the radio was certain Sancho is signing for Liverpool. Mane and Salah are both 27. I could see Salah leave for Madrid if they could afford it.

Sancho supported Chelsea as a kid. I don't know why he doesn't just stay at Dortmund for 2 more seasons, strike up a partnership with Haaland.

I'm for Grealish because it seems more feasible, he is comfortable on the ball in any area of the pitch. He's similar to Fernandes in terms of confidence. United needs these players who can just hold the ball, carry it, and be expressive, rather than the hurrying interceptors mostly employed lately. Pogba wasn't the best at holding the ball was he.

At the moment selling Pogba and De Gea and buying Grealish, bringing back Henderson doesn't seem so bad. I guess there's no way of getting rid of Sanchez so let's hope he's transformed next season to make up for any lack of a centre forward signing which is needed although who and what kind of striker I don't know.

Just checked..another cops america this year.

Good analysis here of Sunday's game:

https://thebusbybabe.sbnation.com/2020/3/10/21171306/manchester-united-manchester-city-manchester-derby-tactical-analysis-return-of-the-solskjaer

Love these stats:

Quote

Twenty seven percent possession and yet Manchester United forced 73 percent of the match to be played outside of their own final third.

Quote

When all was said and done, United only allowed City to complete two passes within 20 yards of their goal. Simply phenomenal.
