We wont.

We will sell Lukaku and Pogba after the window shuts too.

:(

Not that I’d be arsed if they left, but it’d be a complete disaster if we haven’t replaced them. I’m still optimistic we’ll get someone else before Thursday, so let’s see what happens.

That would be nice. I suspect it's paper talk though. How much would he cost? Spurs wanted £130m earlier in the summer. It would theoretically be part of a chain reaction with Pogba going to Real and Fernandez going to Spurs. I can't really see it happening. We don't do things quickly enough.

Spurs were/are after some guy called Lo Celso and Fernandes reportedly rejected them last week. 60/70 million for Eriksen seems to be the thinking as he's in the last year of his contract. Levy won't want to lose him on a free next season!

I think most of the reasoning for our transfers taking forever is because Woodward is trying to not be bullied on prices too much. Sounds like we would have paid 60+ for AWB and 90+ for Maguire if we just paid what was asked for initially.

Your lord and saviour Woodward not allowing himself to be bullied on prices! Now that is funny.

Right, this is my prediction. Eriksen is sorted before deadline on Thursday. Pogba stays for another year. Lukaku is off and maybe we’ll get either Manduzik or Dybala in return (ha!). We have a decent season. We finish in the top 4. Ole keeps his job.

I like the optimism! If I was going to choose between Eriksen and Fernandes, I'd go with Eriksen every time.

I’m trying! Anyway, come on, let’s hear everyone’s predictions...

Well, I predict we won't get Eriksen unless we pay him really big wages. He wants to go to Real Madrid, not a Europa League club!

We have a decent chance of top four as I think Arsenal and Chelsea aren't in great shape either. It will take things actually clicking properly. If we continue on from the disastrous last ten games of the season, then I dread to think. Why did that run-in happen? Was it injuries? Players not fit enough to play how Ole wanted them to? Or was it that Ole is out of his depth?

I'm nervous. It could be great if we play fast attacking football, and the team plays with freedom. But it could be a nightmare. Or anything in between.

I would like us to go for Bruno Fernandes, as our last minute transfer; I have a feeling he'll be a creative spark sorely missing from our midfield. I am hope that McTominay can raise his game, as Matic is too slow

Eriksens stats are fantastic. he's 27. Fernandez is younger but untested. i think if i wanted imediate slot-in improvement i'd pick Eriksen. however if i were building for the future? who knows.

Eriksen is 27, he's the next four years sorted. Build to actually win or at least challenge for the title.

This is a familiar feeling isn't it? We know the squad is short in midfield, but we've fannied about and failed to get anyone in. Eriksen! As if! He said he wanted a new challenge - ie he wants to play in Spain or Italy, not move to a worse team in England. The only way it made sense to try to buy him was if we were trying to provoke Real Madrid into bidding for him so we can hold onto Pogba. Now it looks extremely likely that we will lose Pogba with no replacement coming in. By concentrating on Eriksen we've fluffed a chance to take advantage of a change of heart from Dybala as well.

We've called off moves that looked good, or just not moved quick enough on them and they've gone away. Here's what I think will happen now - Eriksen to Athletico Madrid, Fernandes to Spurs, Pogba to Real Madrid, and us panic buying someone like James Maddison for £75m. We will also sign Lorente for no apparent reason, and end up feeling obligated to pick him as second choice striker ahead of Greenwood. Lukaku will stay, but go on strike and we'll sell him for £20m in January. We're a bit shambolic. As I say, a familiar feeling.

For context I'm feeling very negative about life in general having had a terrible couple of days. Car broke down yesterday, and the engine is completely done, unrepairable. We waited for six hours to get home, with a six-year-old. And now I have no car. And we're going to go into next season with a midfield selected from Matic, Fred, McTominay, and Pereira.

It’s so disappointing, as always. Lukaku will go for sure. We’re going to be left so thin in midfield and up front. Why the hell hasn’t the Fernandes deal been made? He clearly wants to play in England. Just more ineptitude from Ed. Argh.

At least this means we are likely to see a lot more of our good youth prospects. While it would be great to get any of Eriksen/Dybala/Fernandes, we will now hopefully see a lot more of Greenwood, Chong, Gomes and Garner.

Plus a higher pressing team will only benefit the likes of Fred and Pereira. They could be like new signings :omg:
