Like 3-0?

I'm glad the season is over. Huge decisions to make.now about who stays, goes and is brought in.

Shame Woodward still seems to be in charge of transfers (no director of footie yet) so we could end up with "commercial" signings rather than ones for the good of the team

Losing to Huddersfield and Cardiff at the end of this pathetic run would be a sackable offence for anyone other than a club legend.

In terms of form, it’s the lowest of the low. In terms of league position, we still have rock bottom to come next season.

Biggest rumours with actual teeth so far are Dan James, a very very pacy mostly left but sometimes right winger from Swansea who looks like he would fit into a high pressing side and Tielemans from Leicester who would probably become our second best midfielder after Pogba and would be a pretty decent Herrera replacement.

I imagine any big Hollywood signings would be a centre back and maybe a striker if Lukaku does actually leave.

We managed a credible draw with relegated Huddersfield I’ll have you know :quote:

Come on then, lets have a fun game of ...

WHO....Would...you... sign!

money no object, but, ONE of each a defender, mid, and attacker! +bonus of keeper IF DeGea leaves!

So

keeper - Gerónimo Rulli, would be cheaper, by a bit i would imagine than Jan Oblack

Def - Milan Skriniar

Mid - IF pogba leaves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Stays...Ruben Neves

Forward - ...gonna go Leon Bailey, rough around the edges, very quick and direct, and, And! left footed inside right!

They’ve got to show willing this time though as things have really hit rock bottom now. If they really can’t be arsed to put any effort into running the club, then I’ll try my best not to put any effort into supporting them.

A little bit of willing, whether it works or not, is all I really want.

Lets see how the next few weeks pan out eh?

Have we made any signings yet? I hope we don’t use the tried and trusted Woodward scattergun approach again and just buy a load of random players.

I’m not too worried though, the club seem to know what they’re doing now. Since we got that DoF in place, there’ll definitely be a solid plan of how to develop the team and take it forwa....

Oh.

It's typical that Ole came in and immediately brought positive play and results only for it all to go to shit once given the job full time.

Most United fans, myself included, got carried away with the emotion of a United legend coming in and turning the team around.

It's easy to say they should have waited until the end of season before offering the job but it was quite a long run of good results and it did look promising.

Then......oh fuck.

Now I do believe the players should take a large portion of the blame but ultimately the responsibility lies with the manager.

Presumably they are giving Ole an open cheque book to buy in some top players and go again. But it's going to take a while for new players to gel together so you've got to give Ole a period of grace, but how long? I hope the results come in well as the P45 will be to hand if we don't perform, especially against 'weaker' sides.

I don't want big, marquee signings over the summer.

Get rid of those that don't want to be at the club / are shit.

Bring through some youth and make a couple of sensible signings that will work hard to bring silverware back to the club rather than being used ti increase shirt sales.

It doesn’t matter who the manager is, unless Woodward and the Glazers commit to making fundamental changes to the structure of the club, then it’ll be the same old shit.

Noises elsewhere suggest they want a Technical Director and not a DOF, so again, a convoluted hierarchal approach to transfers and direction.

If I was shit at my job for 7 years and repeatedly failed to appoint the right people in the right roles, I’d be rightly moved on.

The Glazers suddenly want to take a more hands on approach (allegedly), not too dissimilar from a young child suddenly wanting to play with a toy they’ve not touched in years,  after the realisation that someone else might want to play with it (Saudi bid).

I don’t trust them to make the right call whilst the club is a profitable business. Already, (again, allegedly) Ole wanted to shift Martial on (something Jose wanted to do) because of his attitude and Glazers said ‘no, because he’s our Pele’. Already he’s being hamstrung. Martial for me is over-rated; a 1 in 5 player at best.

Obviously I’m hoping for the best in the Summer and to eat my proverbial hat, but I’m not holding my breath.

Ed woodward with another blinder of a play! letting de geas contract enter its last year...and he reportedly wont sign an new deal...aces!

He’s after £350k a week! Bit cheeky, but not surprising after what they decided to give Sanchez.

Anyway, have we signed anyone yet? Will we? This transfer window is going brilliantly so far!

Of corse he is, which is Woodward fault, cos he is fucking moron! Sanchez has completely destabilised the wage structure, and isn't worth it, at least de gea would be worth it, well, not on the form of last season, but, now we have to sell him, and for half what he is worth, while spending a fortune on a replacement!

Tell them they have to be as good as De Gea, do as much for the team, win as many points as he has done. Then they can have the same wages. He's been getting mediocre defenders out of trouble for years. Smalling and Jones should pay him their wages.
