The old Man Utd Thread

Herrera is a winner, he always gives 100% and sacrifices himself for the team. I'd be sorry to see him go.

Also, if he goes, and we decide Matic can't quite cut it any more, and Pogba pushes through his move to Real Madrid, we'd suddenly need to buy a whole new midfield. That's three "ifs" but none seem hugely unlikely at the moment.

Smalling was awful.

Lingard was almost invisible.

Fred?! Sweet Jesus, he was useless!!

Shaw was a machine. Crazy work rate.

McTominay was very good.

Urgh, down to 6th. I can’t see us getting champions league next year now. It feels like the honeymoon period is over and our weaknesses are fully back on show. Too many tough games in the run-in I reckon.

Whatever happens I really hope Sanchez goes. What a terrible transfer he's been!

Can’t see how he will go, who is going to be willing to pay those wages? Only way I can see him going is you paying off his remaining contract or something. Which would be crazy money, might as well just keep him on the books.

Who knows! China? Some other big stupid club? Maybe we'll contribute some of his wages after he's gone like you can do in Football Manager? Maybe he'll accept a bit of a pay cut to play elsewhere rather than not be involved?

I imagine if he does go it won't be a favorable deal to Utd other than having him gone and hopefully restoring some kind of sanity to our wage structure.

Yeah, I think we are basically betting on his pride. I don't doubt he still wants to okay regularly at the top level of European football. But he's clearly not going to do that for us.

Bit disturbed by constant reports that Herrera is off, and the apparent acceptance of this by some fans. IMO he's our most consistent midfielder, and probably also the most flexible in terms of his position and role. Also until we sort out the right side of our attack and defence, he does a lot of thankless work down that side. Him leaving probably changes our situation from needing three players to maybe needing more like five.
