True. But, at least its 6th.y like a point or 2, not, what was it, 11 from 4th when ole took over?  There are still ten games left, and we are now right in the mix for top 4! Hell, half the 1sy team was missing today, and we still won! That just would not have happened before!

It is completely in our own hands as we still play Chelsea and Arsenal. In practical terms we probably still need someone to slip up, but mathmatically speaking we're not dependent on that.

More weight he loses, more he scores :D pleased for him.

He no longer looks so fucking vast, it is true. Given the strength he showed for the second goal, it's obvious that he doesn't even need that bulk anyway.

Only 5 points off Spurs, who aren’t looking too clever at the moment. I’m still not convinced we’ll get top 4, but we just have to keep winning and hope Spurs and Arsenal drop points.

How negative is that!

Ole has them playing good football, 3 points away to Palace is a great result along with the point against Liverpool.

Id put money on 3rd over the current sides (if I was a betting man).

I’m half optimistic, but there’s only 10 games left, so I reckon we’d pretty much have to win every match, while counting on the others to drop points. Not impossible, but we’d be lucky.

Don’t get me wrong, I think what Ole is doing is amazing and we look like a really good side again, but that cunt Mourinho left us with too big a mountain to climb.

God, I hate that fucker.

Mctominay was good again today. With Mou it got to a point where we'd all dread seeing him in the starting lineup but now he actually seems to have found his position and it hopefully means we don't need to play Matic every single game!

Really good result yesterday, considering our injury crisis. It would be very handy at this point in the season if Lukaku discovers a bit of form. He's still the best finisher at the club, and he's been showing signs of some neat creative passing recently as well. Losing some of that bulk has meant he's moving better now, which seems to help him.

As Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho broke records you never knew previously stood, Solksjaer is doing similar but in a good way. I find it hard to believe in all of Man United's history they've never won 8 consecutive away games (in all comps). That he's done that despite 3 of those being against Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea is quite something.

Ancelotti once said it's better to be a lucky manager than a good one. United have not had a winning mentality since Ferguson, the kind of expectation of a win regardless of opponent or situation that formed over decades of success that the manager transmitted and the established players demanded.

still can't remember how to spell his name though

In all my years watching football I can't think of a manager having a more transformative and sustained positive effect on a squad of players and a club. That December away game against Liverpool was just awful - scrappy, leaky, shapeless. It felt like a whole squad had been worn away to nothing. That years in the wilderness beckoned, with the faint hope that the club would finally make a clean break from Mourinho to revamp and rebuild from the ground up.

But now look. Players, almost to a man, utterly rejuvenated. Exciting football. Confidence. Camaraderie. And that defence. Liverpool absolutely bombarded that back line and they barely got a sniff of a goal.

Ole is amazing. A Norwegian fairytale of a man. That is all.

Valencia leaving in the summer after 20 years. :(

20? Twice as long as it feels like ;)

Let's be honest though, he's just not up to it anymore is he? He's lost his pace and seemingly his confidence to take people on and at 34 he's had a pretty good run with us. At least he'll get a testimonial to say goodbye.

Goal and an assist for Pereira Andreas! This is already probably his best game for United. Getting Dalot on seems to have stretched the play and given him more space to work in.

Hell of a finish from Lukaku too, who had a lot to do. He look much more himself of late, trusting his instincts in and around the box, and backing himself more.
