The old Man Utd Thread

I have dreams that are sometimes so boring I remember them as memories, as things that happened. Lukaku didn't take a terrible penalty yesterday while shouting to the crowd; I'm the man! I'm the best player in the whole damn world!...so I dreamt that but the penalty occurred in the centre circle and something twigged and i thought; this doesn't seem right.

So yeah anyway Lukaku going wide right was what Martinez was instructing him to do when he arrived at Everton. Think it was a goal against Arsenal actually where after scoring it he raced towards Martinez and gave him a big hug. It's starting to get a bit concerning that United give away so much possession of the ball but so did France at the world cup, and that was more deliberate. With Pogba's ability to surge forward and produce long raking through balls to find the runs of Rashford and Martial it's the football Mourinho should have been playing. But just as it looked like United ten minutes into the second half was just going to sit i thought this would be the exact moment Mourinho would bring on Fellaini. While everyone else last night is thinking; bring on Rashford and Martial. I thought it would be 1-3 or -2-3 with a Rashford or Martial tap in sealing the win, so not too far off. Pogba feels so important now, a strong presence, a leader even. That second half there was just a hole in midfield and no way to get up field. Matic acts as an extra defender and Herrera mops up. It might be PSG embarrass United with their possession and shots on target but United steal the win.

Fair dos to Lukaku, that pass to Sanchez was fantastic and he rightly took his time for the second assist. But then it's the other through ball he later tried in the game that you end up remembering, where he seemed to hit it harder than Lingard hits the ball to score his goal.

Looks like Fellaini is off to China. I have mixed feelings about the big feller. One the one hand, he's an uncoordinated, one-dimensional disaster area, more of a threat to the peace than a football player, a symbol of much that has been wrong over the last few years. On the other hand, he always gave everything he had, would run through walls for the sake of the team, and scored many vitally important goals. I wish him luck and will miss him, but at the same time I'm kind of relieved I'm never again going to have to watch him elbow an opponent in the face while bundling in a late equaliser at home to Watford.

Couldn't have put that better myself.

well, i dont think lukaku has offered anything again, he is too staticm, and not intriciate enough, and mata is spending too much time inside.  wouldnt be surprised to see lingard pretty soon in the 2nd half!
