@Loik V credern I wasn’t specifically blaming the players, even if it seems like I was. I think we’ve got some very talented individuals there, but for whatever reasons they just don’t work as a team. I’d much rather the blame land at Mourinho’s feet though, as he’s the one who’s targeted those players and he’s the one responsible for making them work together as a team. I suppose what I was getting at is that just throwing money around isn’t the answer. That coupled with Mourinho’s terrible man-management and tactics, it all starts to look a bit of a joke.

My posts in here are just as much a reaction to the general vibe, from listening to 606 callers, and pundits, and the media. I don't know how people are measuring effort and how much means players are playing for the shirt as opposed to not giving a shit. People are so keen to forget that these players are still among the top in the world, they would not be where they are without the drive, determination and sacrifices made to get there. They absolutely want to be the best player they can be.

I don't like Lukaku that much but he's been openly obsessed his whole career about wanting to be better and move his game to the next level. It's bizarre when we see one match where he's brilliant, bullies defenders all game and gets the 'he was unplayable today' comment from pundits and then the next 10 games is anonymous. That's how he's always been; score a brace every once in a while.

The clips the btsport pundits were pulling up were Lukaku not making runs, stretching defenders, he'd hesitate, receive pass, pass back. A lot of the other criticisms of players in games has been of things they're being told to do. Not that Lukaku is being told not to make runs but if Mourinho is stressing not lose the ball then maybe he comes towards ball to be safe than create uncertainty.

Is Mourinho emphasising certain attacking play from players, there is never any flow. Look how simple city make it. Player makes run, gets behind, low cross to other winger for easy tap in. Sterling and Sane are devastating like that. It's not complicated, it's not technically beyond the capabilities of most professional players, but they've got that play down to being as refined and seamless as possible, like Arsenal in their prime did. Pundits were picking out Sane's assured pull back from the Sterling cross showing confidence, but it also shows how comfortable in the final third man city's players are. They spend so much time overloading the opposition in the final third and reduce goals to a normal process. They don't even celebrate goals really, not like oh my god we finally did it we got a goal let all that anger out.

Every player knows where every teammate is, in every moment what the best option is. We don't see any of the training, any of these transitions being practised. But we can clearly see at their best they're playing like they weren't in Guardiola's first season. It still hurts we didn't get him. I still don't know why we allowed that. Maybe in a parallel universe Rashford, Martial and Lingard are tearing teams apart. Do Sterling and Sane have something they don't? Does Walker have vastly greater physical capabilities than Shaw? Has Mahrez ever reached the level of Sanchez? Okay, stuck after that because Silva and De Bruyne are two of the best midfielders the premier league has seen, and Bernardo Silva is a born footballer and while Mata is too he's getting on. But then so is D Silva i guess and through it all he's been fundamental and influential, not a bit part player who gets the odd goal.

It's even galling how easy Chelsea make hiring a new manager be. Okay the best coach in Italy is he? We'll have him. If United was Chelsea they'd look at Lucien Favre and throw all their money at him. After the last three managers it's more likely they look at Luis Enrique and think; a treble eh sounds good you want half a billion a year do you well only a genius would ask for so much you sound like our guy.

Sanchez has torn his hamstring and will be out for a "long time"

Hopefully it's not as bad as is being reported and he'll be back for the push towards Europa League qualification at the end of the season.

One thing though - he's posted this pic of himself on instagram.  Okay, we know he loves his dogs, but why does he have two copies of the exact same picture of himself with the dogs next to each other in his house?

Yeah, im done with this now. I keep thinking no, Jose will pull it all back and remind us that he's the genius we'd all hoped he would be. I am so tired of the demeanour surrounding the club and this line-up is screaming "sack me, because I don't know what I'm doing!"

Surely this has got to the point where the board must be seriously considering getting rid of him? As bad as he is, I find it an absolute disgrace that he’s getting away with it and seemingly has Woodward’s backing. He’s made us a complete laughing stock and is by far the worst manager we’ve had since Fergie left.

I wish I could switch my support off while that cunt is manager, but I can’t help but see what’s going on and hoping deep down that we have a decent game. He’s making it really difficult though.

I wonder who is going to the matches as well. There is no way on earth I would pay money to go and watch them at the moment and I can’t understand anybody that would. If attendance dropped I bet they’d soon make changes.

I've said it before but I preferred watching us under LVG. We could actually keep possession, were difficult to score against, had the semblance of an identity tactically, developed young players (who seem to be regressing under Mourinho) and were very competitive in top 4 games. He was also a much more sympathetic and professional manager than Mourinho.

Obviously that last season of his was a let down with the CL group stage exit and missing out on the top 4 on goal difference, but we still won the FA Cup (first major trophy post Fergie). There's no way we're getting that close to the top 4 this season, will be lucky to get beyond R16 of the CL, and there's no chance we're winning the FA Cup. All the while we have a manager who is openly undermining the confidence of players and taking the team backwards.

I thought it was damning where the club went "we are not holding a parade for the fa cup" as if it were an embarrassment, where as most other clubs would have been thrilled to win it.  I want you lot to start getting back to where you were as it almost feels like the club (and I've never been a manu fan)is dying on it's arse atm, and it just feels wrong to feel sorry for a club that's still raking it in cash wise.

Is a change of manager all it would take, or is it more symptomatic than that?  That's Moyes (and it's beginning to look like Moyes wasn't the sole problem at the time either), LVG and now Mourinho who can't seem to do anything with the club.  What was Fergie's magic forumlae to get it ticking and does he still have the notes scribbled down somewhere for you?
