Why was one of their players wearing a bra?

Good performance, that.  We weathered their early pressue and enthusiasm well, and killed them with a bit of quality from Pogba, albeit with the help od a harsh penalty.  The second half we were really good, always in control, barely a misplaced pass, and we could have scored more goals.  Pogba was the star, but how good was Shaw again?  Good to see Martial put in a good performance in the second half, but he does have a tendancy to play very well against weaker opposition, so we need to see him do that against a decent team.  I also enjoyed the 30-minute or so cameo from Pereria who was absolutely flawless when he came on.  We need to play him more, as he's clearly a class player.

Plus Dalot had a pretty good debut! Lindelof and Smalling did well again too.

Fergie is looking very well, isn't he? Better than I could've possibly expect tbh. Seems as if fuck all happened to him. I'm sure it's not quite that simple, but surprised and glad to see him back and so much himself.

Fred's playing well so far, him and Lingard causing them problems on the right. Wolves' quick passing in advanced areas is a bit scary though. Looks like a good game.

TBF I think it was more a case of Wolves being good than us being bad (they a team also beginning with W are above us in the table - I think even if we'd beaten them that would still be the case too). We were the better team in the first half, should've really made that domninance tell more. We leave it at 1-0 they were always capable of getting back in it. We huffed and puffed and Wolves were clearly struggling by the end, but they held on and that's all that matters.

I do think Pogba wasn't disciplined enough today. He seems to enjoy inviting pressure on himself then trying to draw a foul. He shouldn't do that in deeper positions, what's the point. But both him and Fred in a three, with them both roaming forward, looked promising.

Lukaku was a bit wasteful too. But maybe the service to him wasn't that great. Not like we have anyone else to play that role anyway.

He's playing better for us than Mkhitaryan was, of course that's not saying much though. Today he won some free kicks in good positions and put some dangerous balls into the box. An unremarkable performance basically. Will always be a puzzling transfer imo given how effective rotating Rashford and Martial on the left was before he joined... and of course him being the best part of a decade older than either of them. Even if he was playing out of his skin, it still wouldn't make that much sense.

I think most people assumed he would play in the vacant role we have on the right.

But no.

The annoying thing is that no matter how bad he is, we can't drop him for any sort of extended period of time because his wages are so high. We can't pay someone £350,000 a week to not play.

He makes us worse though. He gives the ball away, and he keeps blocking off the areas Pogba wants to run into. He thinks he's the main man, so he wants the team to be geared towards giving him the ball at every opportunity, but all he ever does with it is give it away. It's infuriating.

I’ve always dismissed talk of managers wanting to be sacked as nonsense, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult not to think that’s the case with Mourinho. He knows Woodward will put his prized asset, the most marketable man in the sport after Messi and Ronaldo, above a disposable mercenary manager. Especially with Zidane available, who again is immensely marketable and a triple Champions League winner to boot.

While I don't disagree that Jose should probably go, Pogba was always going to get rested for a League Cup tie against Derby.

Pogba has also been quite vocal this season and between him and his agent they have stirred up a fair amount of unnecessary drama.

I can see why Jose has had to take a stand this time.
