The old Man Utd Thread

Darmian was the only one I had real concerns over and I am still not completely sure about Lindelof. Fred looks a great buy and if Shaw gets a good run of games, we should finally see him fulfil his potential. Still Lingard, Matic etc. to come back too. Lots to be positive about.

We needed to make substitutions that will get us back in the game. Smalling isn't going to score the goals to do that. Mata had a shocking half by his standards, and Pereira hadn't done anything much at all in an attacking or defensive sense.

What we need is for Pogba to stop pissing about (he did Bailly no favours with that crossfield pass to him on the edge of our area a few minutes ago) Fred to stop panicking, Martial to stop sulking and start playing, and probably De Gea to make a few great saves because the defence aren't going to stop them.

The worst thing is we've looked dreadful for the first ten minutes of the second half.

see, you mention fred panicking, with pereira didnt, which is why i cant understand taking off the better playing of the two. and yeah pogba needs t oget on the ball, and go forwards with it!

young has been atrocious at RB. even darmian looked better last week!

...and here comes lump it forward!

Again, I can see the reasoning behind bringing Fellaini on for Martial but fuck that's a depressing substitution. Fergie would have bought on an attacker for a defender and overwhelmed their defence. Brighton haven't had much trouble containing us so far, but we haven't changed shape at all. It's still 4-3-3 with two deep midfielders, essentially.
