first game then, first half...looking a little rusty!  genuinely cant understand why we have started preseason so late!

some players looking a bit fresher, bailey looks fit as a fiddle, and martial looks like ha has a point to prove.

lee grant made a couple of smart saves!

smalling looks...like smalling,

shaw...hes making good runs, but doesn't seem to be allowed to really play his natural game.

mctominay , needs to work on his touch and passing, not much going on there. A pereira, playing as a DLP, looks good, same as he always does in preseason, can really make a pass, hopefully he will be kept this season! demi mitchel, not really done anything.

hopefully 2nd half will see gomes and chong!

J pereira on for grant, and tim fosu mensa on for valencia

club america score out of nothing, but a lack of closing down...stilll...15 mins into the 2nd  half, and its garbage, that saem turgid shit as last year! joel flapped at the ball missed it.

chong comes on...you cant miss that  kids hair lol

and now...a 16 year old mason greenwood on the pitch! to replace shaw, who had been playing left wing!

an equalliser!...came about because chong chased a ball down, turned back on a player and puts the ball in the box! ..then a scuffy goal lol

well, we now have a a front 3 of gomes, greewood and chong! love it

although, scotty and martial both went off with knocks/injuries.

freindly number 2!  good to see chong starting, not overly sure about J Pereira, lets hope he has a good half!

image.thumb.png.c3fc7194c2919acd33418c0111f80e9b.png

jesus christ, the ground is practically empty!?!

Tony V off after 7 mins... :/

Chong is kinda similar to Ronaldo, when he first arrived, you can see hes good technically, but he really needs to hit the gym as he gets knocked off the ball to easily, give him 3 years though, and he could be quality!

and A pereira NEEDS to be in the first team!

shaw has been trying hard as well! i think getting two games in a row has helped him! when he was at southampton he did better the more he played!

sanchez is trying too hard...again... but Pereira...yeah...he absolutely needs to be in the team! hell, him matic and pogba would be good!

its fair to say, i think lee grant is a good 3rd choice! hell, hes better than karius lol

THAT, was not good.... was mostly an dU23 team, which in part was alrite, as some of them lads look like they really could have a part to play. BUT, no use at all for getting team cohesion or getting back into it, as the team wasnt there! Pre season should have started at the beginning of the month for the players that were available!

i guess thats just whats available at the mo! Fred on the bench, be good to see him get on, guessing second half.  Liverpools starting lineup is a bit more, first teamy!

20 mins in and we lack abysmal compared to lpool, you can see they started earlier, why we didnt , fuck knows!

27 mins and the scun get a pen, as salah chucks himself to the ground.

30 mins, A pereira scores a blinder of a free kick! he HAS to be in the team for the start of the season!

fucking sturridge, comes on the pitch, and scores within 15 seconds. abysmal defending, and Joel just positionally all wrong, way to far off his line, and in the wrong place!?!

fucking sturridge...

annnnd another abysmally soft pen for the scum

and i cant understand why chong is playing LWB, we should have switched to 433 by now...

i thought it was gonna be 4-1 beffor, shaquri just scored a stonking overhead kick! seriously, why the fuck did mourino not go for him. fed up with jose, really am. i dont give a fuck if its a "friendly" it was shit, and the players should have a) been back sooner , they arew paid a fucking fortune to kick a ball round and b) preseason absolutely should have started earlier, we are in no shape for the start of the season at all.

on another note, why can the have 100,000 standing grounds in america?!

and here is jose basically saying the players arnt fit enough...so...pre season didnt start early enough....

then complaining about mata and sanchez having to play "every minute"as we have no more players. well, he should have played even more kids, maybe mason greenwood up front, its not gonna hurt him to play.

from the game though, he should sell smalling and rojo, keep timmy and axel, as they looked alrite, well, until the lack of match fitness showed

Is Jose actually pushing for a sacking so he doesn't have to admit his management style is what is the problem with the squad?

I'm so fucking tired of his bitchy comments to pretty much everything. Players, injuries, fixtures, other teams transfer spending, oh and Martial....

id be pretty fucked off too if i was Mourinho.

how ARE you supposed to prepare without your main players, and the reinforcements he obviously wants? What is the point of being in america when you're just fielding players you won't be playing?

Well, we only had 29% possession. :P

Alexis has been excellent this pre-season by all accounts. The situation with Martial is a worry - it seems he might not join up back with the squad. Personally I'm not excited by the prospect of Perisic joining - he's a classic Mourinho player - functional, physical, consistent, cynical, but no flair. He's a good player, but I don't like watching him play. That's just my opinion though.

We've had such a weird pre-season. Jose losing his mind, three quarters of the team not back from the World Cup, very little news of signings, strange stories appearing in the papers, but on the other hand Pereira, Mata, and Sanchez playing really well, and we've just beaten Real Madrid.  The bottom line is it's only pre-season. It means nothing.

I literally couldn’t care less about Martial. He’s clearly a moody diva who has underperformed most of the time, so I’m happy to get rid. Just hope José gets the central defender he’s looking for and we clearly need.

What Gabzy said. he's just never consistently showed what he's capable of. he most likely blames the club for him missing out on lifting the world cup. rather than taking the blame himself. this is laid clearly for everyone to see by him not giving a shit about pre-season. yeah he has had a kid. but not training since he left? fuck him.  @feltmonkeything about perisic is, he not only works hard, he scores goals. i don't think he'll come. we;'ll end up with a defender probably. but probably not one of the caliber we need

My main worry is that we haven’t really done anything to make up for the gulf in class between us and City, and I can see them easily walking away with the title again. I also think we’ll probably struggle to keep up with Liverpool as well, as they’ve done some decent transfer business and are in a good place with Klopp.

So yeah, I reckon we’ll finish 3rd, highlighting that we’ve got a manager who’s best days are behind him and a board who aren’t particularly arsed about making us the best club in the world as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I hope I’m wrong and we kick the season off like we did last year, but Mourinho’s bullshit and Woodward’s blasé attitude have put a bit of a dampener on things for me.

Decent transfer business?

Shakiri I'll give you but then there's a keeper unproven in the Premier league who had a torrid World Cup and Keita who is also unproven and is never more than a minute from a red card.

Obviously unproven doesn't mean they'll fail but it's not a guarantee of success.

You've also got to bear in mind that Salah is unlikely to have as good a season as he has just done.

Keeper - So did yours, but I don't think that will affect him in the season at all. All Roma fans and associated press say he was amazing for them last season. Plus he has to be an improvement on what we have.....how can he not be.

Kieta - Gonna be amazing, bookmark this.

Salah - Already looks like he's starting where he left off. Granted its only pre season but he looks sharp still. He might not bag as many goals this season but I think he'll still be up there in the top scorers for the season.

True, DDG also has a torrid World Cup and we also have bought an unproven player in Fred.

It's all a mystery until Christmas, I mean, remember how well Morata started last season...? :)

Do you feel like you need more elsewhere? I mean you did well defensively last season but did that hinder your attackers? A proper solid CB pairing could allow your attackers more freedom by not having to drop deep and help. Pogba needs to be off the leach.
