True. I’ve said it for years that neither are good enough. De Gea must have the patience of a saint with those two clowns in front of him.

I reckon if Jones hadn't made a challenge Hazard probably wouldn't have scored. He'd taken it in too close, and would have had to take one more step before shooting, by which time he would have made the angle tighter and De Gea would have been right on top of him. Jones panicked.

Wasn't there a rule change recently, where fouls in the box leading to a penalty only get a yellow, instead of a red?

 

Don't think Jones should've taken the risk there. He's trying to do something superhuman to make up for getting the wrong side of Hazard, but really it would've been better to give De Gea a chance at saving it.

Yeah, you're right. I'm going on an old version of the rules I have in my head. Seems to happen a lot these days.

Did I really just hear one of the commentators say that Phil Jones hasn’t really played enough games for us over his 7 years at the club due to injury? I’d say he’s played too many.

 

Anyway, Lukaku second half. Jose has got some half time team talk to make. It’s been a shambles all over the pitch.

Pogba just woke up. About time, but that was a great run.

 

Rashford looks completely devoid of confidence. He's trying too hard. This all stems from him playing superbly against Liverpool and then immediately getting dropped for two months.

 

Shearer in the analysis is spot on about Jones. He doesn't read the game, and everything he does is last-ditch.

So VAR clearly not going to end debates about decisions. Should've been another penalty, for me.

 

We're putting a lot of pressure on Chelsea but they are dealing with it pretty well tbh. Game could easily peter out if we let it.

These commentators are absolutely creaming themselves every time Hazard gets the ball. It’s fucking weird.

 

Deserved loss again though. Absolutely no drive until we go behind, but Chelsea are experienced enough to deal with that. This squad needs a massive shake up over summer. We’re regressing.
