The old Man Utd Thread

Apparently City have now pulled out of the race for Alexis. I'm really not sure how I feel about this. I should be grinning massively that we seem to be on the verge of bringing in a top, top quality player but I'm just not that excited by it. I think I've become desensitized to it all.

Stupid City going and winning the title by Xmas and ruining the fun of it all. Any other season we would be at least in with a shout of catching top of the league, with the exception to Joses first season with Chelsea.

Totally. Under Fergie this never happened. I think the only international superstar we signed was Veron.

Since we've had Di Maria, Falcao, Pogba, etc.

Am I the only one that finds Pogba infuriating to watch 90% of the time? Like just actually focus on him for 5 mins. He’s a lazy sod.

Changed your mind yet? ;)

This is United playing at 45%, but doing a very professional performance.

Gabz, i love you but this is bollocks. It's cos he's not Portuguese, isn't it? :P

He is immense, everything goes through him, he controls games, is involved in everything everywhere on the field. Love the guy.

Lukaku's goal was incredibly satisfying. He's been fantastic this whole game but mostly in terms of his work bringing in others, or stretching the play. But that was all about him, bullying himself some space and then having it, the kind of bullish finish we haven't seen too often since the start of the season.

Where would Sanchez fit into this team, really? Who would you drop? He would probably want to play where Martial is now, but how much better is he actually? A rather mild improvement for the outlay, I would say, and a downgrade in terms of long term potential. Particularly as that would also limit Rashford's chances. If he's happy to play on the right (or at least start there), then fine, the signing makes sense. Part of me feels like City are just pretending to be in for players, so their rivals panic and spurge all their money to prevent them hoarding talent.
