Stupid sexy Lingard.

 

I dare say Lukaku would benefit from us playing in this style. He is not really a target man, and if he could drift about like Martial has, maybe we wouldn't be knocking hopeless balls up to him. Our front four are actually playing together, seemingly.

Everton were so shit second half you’d think they were throwing the match.

Everton never looked like scoring first half. Still doesn’t excuse what seems to be Sam telling the players at half time to give up on attack and playing for the 0-0 at home against United. Stealing it was possible for them.

Deserved win for United.

What I said about Lukaku is probably true of Mkhitaryan too, if there is any way back to the first team for him. But yeah, this was actually quite a good performance, once the attack finally clicked. Hopefully Mourinho continues with these tactics and the same personell or thereabouts, and allows them to continue to build an understanding. A shame it took injuries / suspensions for him to try this approach though. To me it just seems like common sense to put Martial and Pogba in roaming, attacking roles, with Shaw occasionally joining in the fun... but his hand had to be forced to even try this. Shaw could've even got forward a little more I think. Can't wait to see him and Valencia providing the width on either flank.

 

Herrera and Matic still looks like quite a prosaic midfield combination, but hopefully if the players ahead of them are supplying the creativity, they can basically just be an engine room.

didnt get to see the game as work, but did just check out some highlights, gonna see if i can find the game tommorrow to watch. from the team, did we have a 4 3 3 goin on with matic pogba and herrea in there?

one thing i would say thats come from the last few games with valencia out and young injured is , we dont need a left back! Shaw is looking like hies old self, and if he stays in the team i think hes just gonna get better and better!
