In a way, kinda glad cause if we'd ended up playing City over two legs that would have been depressing. 

 

Hoping Mourinho pulls off some Porto-esque magic in the CL and then does a runner to PSG.. I think that's his main goal anyway, firing us to a Prem or CL title then onto the next job.

I'm not bothered about losing this evening. You could see after the final whistle what it meant to the Bristol City fans and players. Those shots of the fans taking selfies with the players were great, and instantly dissipated any disappointment I was feeling. A last minute winner too, and a performance that merited it as well - incredible scenes.

God we're shit. We missed some chances, but what were we doing trying to hold on against a ten-man mid-table team, sitting back and kicking it away. It's Mourinho's fault with his stupid philosophy of deliberately handing possession away to teams. You see out a close game by holding on to the ball for fucks sake. Not by giving it back to them and hoping they will make a mistake and allow you to break.

Jose can’t come onto the pitch and tuck away those chances that Jesse, Martial, Rashford and Miki all wasted though. Not half chances either, sitters. 

 

Jose was right that this was an easy game to win, and we fucked it completely. Nobody to blame other than the players on the pitch who simply struggle to manage a game at the appropriate moments. There isn’t the leadership on the pitch to translate that to the team, it’s all a bit directionless.

 

Rashford needs to start doing the basics again because his decision making is atrocious at the moment. Been out of form for the last few games now, but the number of times instead of playing a pass he elects to be greedy and smash it against an opposing defender is infuriating.

 

You could argue De Gea should’ve done better on both goals or even why Jose sent Smalling back on in the middle, where he was nigh on useless when that ball came in. Long and short of it was we should’ve been out of sight long before that equaliser.

 

On a positive note, Lukaku had a good game and deserved a few assists today. Good to see Juan back as well.

It seems the players aren't passing to Lukaku when it's on. Often the problem of playing strikers with other strikers; Martial and Rashford are going to back themselves if they get in a good position, naturally. If Mkhitaryan is no longer really considered an option, then we really have Mata who is more of a provider, and that's it. Even he has contributed more goals than assists since moving to United, I believe. Pogba is capable of creating something out of nothing, but he's also the type who needs little invitation to shoot.
