Yeah, he used to play for West Brom, didn't he.

I don't think it's that, he hasn't played for them for ages, and didn't celebrate the previous goal he scored either. Think he's just a bit fed up (understandably I think) and wants to make that point. Our fans can be terribly fickle sometimes. Probably the only forward or attacking players they're backing even when they're not playing brilliantly are Lingard and Rashford.

tbh, i still cant understand why we went with lukaku instead of morata, lukakus all round play is abysmal, his touch, his passing, his dribbling, all naff!

Well different players have different strengths, Morata is stronger technically but he has gone missing in games too. Lukaku has mostly hovered somewhere between good and brilliant in the premier league for five seasons previous, so he was a safer bet than Morata. I think it is clear that when we are not on top of games he struggles to contribute, but I think that is the case for most out-and-out strikers, and we knew that is what we were getting. I think he has taken a lot of pressure off the shoulders of Rashford and Martial in games, pressure neither of them are ready to carry. To do that game after game without much in the way of profit or recognition is probably quite wearing. I think for him to really flourish at United we will probably need to adjust our tactics a little bit, and he will need to adjust his game a little bit, it is not just his responsibility to fix I think.

Another heroic victory! Scraping home against a West Brom side who seem destined for relegation thanks to a deflected winning goal. Jose's mighty reds March on!

These days, more often than not I don't really enjoy watching us play.

It's really no different to most of the games under Fergie. Back then it was just referred to as "those are the wins that win you the league".

Lingard gets nothing but dogs abuse from our fans!

He's regularly been second best physically / in the air which has been disappointing, but also pretty understandable. If we were trying to build from the back more though, I doubt this would be such an issue. Not sure why we're trying to get up the field so quickly against Bristol City, surely that's the kind of defending they'd rather be doing against a top tier side.

Outstanding last-ditch tackle aside, Blind has looked quite ordinary in midfield too. He's not being particularly adventurous with the ball, and slowing down our play. I think this team selection is more a reflection of who Mourinho wanted to rest than anything, though.
