The old Man Utd Thread

Well, I would say us and Roma are the clear favourites. Hope we don't meet them before the final, there are a lot of far worse teams in the mix. I also don't think it'd be "easier", as Tactics Tim suggests, to qualify for the Champions league through its sister competition, rather than by qualifying ordinarily via the league. It's still a cup competition and anything can happen over six legs and a final. But I think if we can get a kind enough draw on Friday and beat Southampton on Sunday, we'll have a decent chance of completing a poor man's treble.

It never is. It's not one of those competitions with a protected status like the FA Cup, or competitive international matches.

Mkhi out then. Rojo at left back, err... would prefer Blind. Shaw not even on the bench.

I'm hoping Lingard starts centrally. Think Herrera would be left to do too much work in the centre if Pogba and Mata are his partners there.

Everyone Likes Stats - I still think the Mourinho home record one is actually one of the most unbelievable football achievements of the 21st century.

Quote

Between 23 February 2002 and 2 April 2011, Mourinho went 150 home league matches unbeaten: 38 (W36–D2) with Porto, 60 (W46–D14) with Chelsea, 38 (W29–D9) with Internazionale and 14 (W14–D0) with Real Madrid.

Another I like is..almost as unbelievable (notreally)..Man City under Stuart Pearce in 2006/07 scored 10 goals at home in the league all season, and none after New Years Day. In the league, their top scorer was Joe Barton with 6.
